It's not the biggest slate of college basketball ever, but there's still enough games to warrant handicapping effort. Which two picks are we adding to our tickets on Monday night?
Kansas Jayhawks vs. Oklahoma Sooners
The Jayhawks were just handed their second loss of the season (by Iowa State), so you better believe they're anxiously awaiting the chance to get back on the court and make amends. They'll look to take it out on the visiting Sooners, with early NCAA Basketball odds showing Kansas favored by five points.
Aside from the recent setback against the Cyclones, you'd have to say it's been another very successful season for the Jayhawks so far. They're clearly one of the frontrunners in the Big 12 and always have to be in serious consideration on the national scale as well. Perry Ellis and Frank Mason III have been the top two guys, and as usual with Kansas, they've proven to have the necessary toughness and guile to rack up another impressive tally of wins in 2014/15.
As for the Sooners, they've done a lot of good work too. Following back-to-back losses to Kansas State and then West Virginia, Oklahoma recovered their pride by thumping Oklahoma State 82-65 at home this past Saturday. Buddy Hield was on fire, going off for 27 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in the win. Oklahoma stands at 12-5 overall and has gone 3-2 through the team's first five conference games.
With our NCAA Basketball pick tonight, we think it's the Jayhawks that warrant the most love. They're pretty much always near impossible to stop at home, where they've still yet to lose this season. We don't anticipate that run coming to an end here, so we're taking the experienced, well-coached Jayhawks to win by more than five.

Georgetown Hoyas vs. Villanova Wildcats
Another one of the better games on the board will feature Villanova up against Georgetown, with the Wildcats listed as the college basketball betting odds favorites. The top online sportsbooks have the road team favored by four points, with an O/U of 132 on the board.
Despite being at home, the Hoyas find themselves as the underdogs, which is probably more indicative of just how good Villanova has been this season, rater than a gid on Georgetown. The Hoyas, in all actuality, have been doing just fine, as they currently sport a 12-5 overall record. They've faced a tough schedule and have held their own, with a standout win over Florida thrown in the mix. Georgetown is getting the most production out of D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, who's averaging 14.9 PPG, 4.2 RPG and 3.5 APG so far this season.
Villanova can relate to winning. The Wildcats have been doing a lot of that recently, having won 17 of their first 18 games this season. Their only blemish came in an overtime loss to Seton Hall on the road - other than that, they've been tremendous. With wins over then-ranked teams VCU, Michigan and St. John's, we can't fault their strength of schedule either. The Wildcats have simply been getting it done night in and night out, and they're one of the top favorites in the Big East because of it.
So now comes the tricky part. Where's the best value in this conference showdown? Tough call, but we actually like the Hoyas to cash in this spot. They're getting points on their own floor and have been playing sound basketball of late. That makes us feel good about their chances of at least keeping this thing close, with the added potential of a straight up win. You may want to consider dabbling a little in the moneyline, as there's a nice plump price there for the taking on Georgetown.
