As we get set for a new week of possibilities, we believe we've found two college basketball picks that hold a lot of value here on Monday night.

NCAA Basketball Pick: Western Kentucky vs. Arkansas State

Maryland Terrapins vs. Virginia Cavaliers

The Cavaliers will be going for their eighth straight win when they play host to the Terrapins tonight.

After checking out the college basketball odds, it's clear oddsmakers are expecting a relatively easy win for Virginia in this spot. They're favored by 11 points at most every sportsbook, with the O/U available at both 128.5 and 129.

The lines make sense. After all, the Cavaliers have been on a tear as of late, winning seven consecutive games. They've beaten North Carolina, Florida State, Virginia Tech and Boston College at home and Pittsburgh, Notre Dame and Georgia Tech on the road.

The only blemish on Virginia's ACC resume is that four-point loss at Duke. Other than that, they've been terrific.

Defense has been the key to success for the Cavaliers. They've allowing only 55.6 points per game on 38.2 percent shooting overall and they've actually been even better than their season averages lately, surrendering just 51.0 points per game over their past five.

Meanwhile, Maryland has been trying their best to hang around in the conference, going 6-5 so far. Losses came to Pittsburgh (twice), North Carolina, Florida State and NC State. The Terrapins, though, are coming off a big 83-71 home win over the Seminoles, with Seth Allen going off for 32 points. Will he come up with some more magic on the road tonight?

Laying this many points in a conference game may scare some off, but we're confident in Virginia's ability to cover this number tonight. Back the Cavaliers to dominate defensively en route to the double-digit victory.

College Basketball Pick: Virginia Cavaliers -11

Kansas Jayhawks vs. Kansas State Wildcats

Another masterful coaching job from Bill Self has the Jayhawks in contention for another deep run in the NCAA tournament. They're currently ranked #8 in the AP and have lost just one time (at Texas) in Big 12 action.

After that loss to the Longhorns, the Jayhawks have responded by beating Baylor (69-52) on the road, days before getting the best of West Virginia (83-69) at home. You would have made profit if you backed Kansas on the spread in both wins.

Tonight the Jayhawks face one of their toughest games of their schedule at rival Kansas State. The college basketball odds have Kansas favored by 3.5 points, but those lines could change even further as we approach tipoff.

The Wildcats have been hit-or-miss lately, alternating wins and losses over their previous four contests. They beat both Texas and Texas Tech (at home), but fell on the road to Iowa State and West Virginia.

Why do we like Kansas State tonight? Despite their overall inconsistency, they've been outstanding inside their own building this season. Their one loss came all the way back in the first game of the season – since then they've won 12 straight at home, with standout victories over Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Texas.

We know the Wildcats are going to be pumped up for this one, and while the Jayhawks are definitely improving game by game, this occasion could prove to be too much for them.

With that said, we'll be going with Kansas State as home underdogs for our college basketball picks.
