Betting Preview
I am a huge fan of both Maryland HC Turgeon and his Maryland Terrapins. It is my belief they could well be playing in April. It all starts with point guard, Melo Trimble, their do-everything lead guard.  Duke transfer, Sulaimon, has brought a better attitude and is blending beautifully. So has the addition of Robert Carter, a transfer from GA Tech. Combine those three with the starting experience of Jake Layman and the emergence of frosh center, Diamond Stone, for one of the best starting 5s in the country. Add the coaching of Turgeon, for what has Final Four contender written all over it! Two games ago, the Terps stubbed their toe at Michigan with a (70-67) loss. Saturday’s bounce back game against Ohio St. was predictable. A (100-65) rout, much the same score by which the Terps won their home game following their initial loss in Chapel Hill (89-81) December 1st. That is not surprising for a Turgeon coached team, whose minions are 90-60 ATS following a defeat. But, Turgeon has brought his team along slowly seldom cracking the whip.  He is saving plenty for the emotional reservoir in March. As a result, when not playing at home off a loss, their record is 2-6 ATS as home chalk with covers as 20+ favorite only against Mt. St. Mary’s and lowly Rutgers.

Today’s visitor has quite a different profile. Look no further than today’s feature Article on the 2016 BRATS of College Basketball to say “hello” to the Northwestern Wildcats of 3rd year HC Collins. This year, after a combined 29 wins his first 2 seasons, Northwestern stands 15-4 SU, 8-8 ATS, including 3-3 SU ATS in Big 10 play. They have (B)alance, (R) a positive rebound margin, (A) a positive assist/TO margin and (T) a positive TO margin. In fact, the combination of those last 3 numbers is 12.3 . This makes them a “SUPER BRAT” as all teams on our list, who qualify & whose sum of those columns is 10.0 or more, are a combined 94-53 ATS. You can expect full focus from the Cats today, not only because of the motivation from a (71-62) home loss to Penn St. on Saturday as -10, but also for their revenge motive from their meeting in Evanston on January 2nd. A super brat at a super price in a perfect situation!

I invite you to put the NCAA basketball odds in your favor and join me in my NCAA basketball pick on the Northwestern Wildcats.
