Updated 2014 NCAA Basketball Future Odds

Offensive juggernaut

Iowa State is one of just five unbeaten teams remaining in major college basketball, as its 14-game winning streak to open up the season is the longest in school history.

The Cyclones rank first nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio, which allows the team to score at a high rate with four of five probable starters averaging 12.3 or more points per game.

College basketball handicapper will find that the program has covered the number in six of its last seven road games versus teams with a winning home record.

Fallen into a pattern

Oklahoma has alternated wins and losses over its last four games, as it looks to bounce back from a 90-83 defeat to the Kansas Jayhawks as six-point home underdogs Wednesday, while going OVER the betting total for the fifth time in six opportunities.

The Sooners must get out and defend the perimeter if they want to continue their current pattern, as the Cyclones have made an average of 10 3-pointers in the last six meetings.

It’s important to point out that the team is 5-2 ATS in its last seven games following a loss.

The charity stripe

The Cyclones are averaging 17.5 made free throws per game this season, while their opponents are attempting just 15.8 shots from the charity stripe.

Iowa State will need to continue playing solid defense without fouling if it plans to remain perfect on the year, as Oklahoma buried all 34 free throws in its 86-69 home win in the series last year.

Home court

The Sooners own a 111-81 SU all-time record against the Cyclones, including a 61-22 mark in games played in Norman.

Oklahoma has won 22 of the last 26 meetings in this series at this particular venue, with victories in eight of the last nine opportunities.

I’ve established the Cyclones as 3.5-point road favorites in this affair, as all three of the Sooners’ losses have come against teams with depth.

Oklahoma is the only Big 12 team to open up with the same lineup in every game this season, with the starters accounting for 78 percent of the team’s scoring.

Handicapper Line:  Iowa State Cyclones -3.5
