The Iona Gaels and Manhattan Jaspers are two of the top teams in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, as they prepare to close out their regular-season series Friday night.

Let’s take a closer look at the college basketball odds for this exciting affair at the Draddy Gymnasium, with the opening tip scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

Iona has won 11 games in a row, including a 86-67 victory over the Marist Red Foxes as five-point road favorites Sunday, while going OVER the betting total for the first time in four contests.

The Gaels have four probable starters averaging double figures, with sophomore guard A.J. English leading the way at 17.9 points a contest.

College basketball handicappers will find that the program is 1-6 SUATS as an underdog this season.

Manhattan was likely looking ahead to this high-profile matchup in dropping a 67-63 decision to the Siena Saints as 6.5-point road favorites on Feb. 21, while going UNDER the betting total for a second consecutive contest.

The Jaspers have won 11 of their last 13 home games versus conference opponents, while they’ve gone 11-3 in February the last two-plus seasons.

From beyond the arc

The Gaels are certainly worth a look as a road underdog on the SBR Odds page, considering they pace the country in three-pointers made per game, which is made possible by starting virtually five guards in every contest.

Iona has hit 10 or more trifectas in 13 of its last 19 games, and a total of 17 times during the 2013-14 campaign.

Senior Night

The Jaspers possess one of the best senior trios in Division I basketball, with Michael Alvarado, George Beamon and Rhamel Brown combining to score 42.2 points per game.

The class has won 20 games twice as a group and is the first trio in school history to have each member score at least 1,000 career points.

I’m going to recommend that readers play the total as one of their NCAA basketball picks, as the UNDER is 8-3 in the Jaspers’ last 11 games following a loss.
