We have moved to February and it is crunch time for teams trying to win their conferences, earn a top seed for the conference tournaments or just improving the rest of the regular season.

Because we do this every Wednesday, we have spent an inordinate amount of time in the Atlantic 10, yet it has worked out for the most part. For some reason today, we do not have the usual volume of contests to choose from to make our college basketball picks, thus the two best we liked as underdogs are from the A-10. After last week's sweep against the college basketball odds, we raised our record to 15-7 (68.1 percent).

Saint Louis Billikens at St. Bonaventure Bonnies

Free Basketball Pick: SLU

Best Line Offered: 5Dimes

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3343800, "sportsbooksIds":[19,169,238,139,999993], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

St. Bonaventure (16-6, 9-10 ATS) might have the better team in this encounter, but that does not mean it will cover the spread. The Bonnies have won four in a row but only covered two of them, and they are just 3-6 ATS since the start of the year. In spite of averaging 76 points a game, conference opponents have exposed their weakness, and St. Bonaventure has shot under 44 percent in six out of nine games.

Saint Louis might only be 13-11 (13-8 ATS), but it is competitive and a basketball bettors' best friend, especially in conference play. The Billikens are 8-3 ATS in the A-10 and are an incredible 22-7 ATS after a conference clash under coach Travis Ford. While Saint Louis has a mediocre offensive club (66.9 PPG), it finds ways to stay in games, which is why we will grab the +7.5 points.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

.@MasonMBB heads to NYC for Wednesday’s Bronx battle with Fordham #GetPatriotic

Preview: ;/a>
— Mason Athletics (@MasonAthletics) February 6, 2018
\n"}[/]

George Mason Patriots at Fordham Rams

Free Basketball Pick: George Mason

Best Line Offered: Bovada

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3336812, "sportsbooksIds":[999996,93,238,1096,180], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

We completely understand why sportsbooks made Fordham (7-15, 5-13 ATS) a 2.5-point home favorite over George Mason (10-13, 7-12 ATS). Like the Rams, the Patriots are playing poorly, losers of four of their last five and are stumbling badly as we head down the stretch of the A-10 campaign.

However, there are genuine reasons to believe George Mason can win this contest outright. It starts with the offense, where the Patriots average 71.3 PPG compared to Fordham at 61.9 PPG. The Rams do surrender 7.4 PPG on defense, but based on how bad their offense is, can they really take advantage of a possible George Mason weakness? And in truth, it is not necessarily a real weakness since the Patriots do not play as slow as Fordham.

One other big factor is rebounding. The Patriots are only an average rebounding team, with no differential. The Rams are, on the other hand, one of the worst in the country at a -10 differential, and this where George Mason can take control of this contest.
