Dayton has failed to deliver as underdogs this season, which makes George Washington a top NCAA Basketball pick Friday night.

Small Ball
Despite not having a player on the active roster above 6-6 in height, Dayton has compiled a 10-2 SU record since Dec. 20 with a small ball lineup, which is important to consider when looking over the NCAA Basketball odds in this Atlantic 10 matchup.

The Flyers are shooting 50.8 percent from the floor overall and 41.5 from beyond the arc over that span, while they’ve also won 17 of their last 20 conference regular season games dating back to last year.

Senior guard Jordan Sibert is the main player to watch offensively, as he’s averaging a team-high 16.5 points—knocking down 77.7 percent of his attempts from the charity stripe.

Sports bettors will find that the program is 1-3 SUATS as underdogs this season, with the UNDER going 3-1 in that situation.

Rare Occurrence
George Washington has suffered back-to-back losses for the first time this season, which can’t be ignored when making your NCAA Basketball pick, as it dropped road contests at Rhode Island and VCU.

The Colonials will lean heavily on four juniors in the starting lineup to bounce back from those setbacks, with Patricio Garino, Kevin Larsen, Joe McDonald and Kethan Savage combining to average 45.8 points.

It’s important to point out that the squad has won its last 11 home games, including a perfect 9-0 mark at the Smith Center in 2014-15.

Key Number
The Flyers are 15-0 SU when holding opponents under 65 points, but that number will be difficult to reach due to the Colonials averaging 79.1 points at home.

Dayton may struggle to contain George Washington’s size in the paint, as it ranks 267th in the country in blocked shots, while tonight’s opponent gets 57.1 percent of its point production inside the arc.

Living Large
The Colonials lead the conference in out-rebounding opponents by 4.8 boards per game, while they rank second in defensive field goal percentage at 39.6.

George Washington is one of only 11 Division I teams to now allow more than 75 points in a game so far in 2014-15, as it does a tremendous job of not fouling on the defensive end.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Colonials as one of their basketball selections, as the home team has covered the number in eight of the last 11 meetings in this series.
