Missouri Tigers vs. LSU Tigers
It's a SEC battle between two sets of Tigers tonight when Missouri heads to the Big Easy to take on LSU.
The college basketball odds have LSU favored by either 4.5 or 5 points, but the O/U hadn't been released at time of writing. This season the Tigers are 11-5 SU and 4-7-1 ATS, while Missouri has gone 14-3 SU and 7-7-1 ATS.
The two schools split their two meetings last year, with each team winning at home. LSU, however, covered the spread in both matchups.
We've seen quite a bit of turnover in terms of rotation changes since then, but both teams have managed to survive in a tough SEC conference, at least so far.
Missouri got back on track with a dominant win over Alabama their last time out, while LSU inflicted similar damage in their 81-58 rout of Vanderbilt over the weekend. Considering LSU had lost two straight at home (Tennessee, Rhode Island), it was a much-needed win.
With our college basketball picks tonight, we are taking Johnny Jones' team to win and cover at home.
The best player on the court will be Johnny O'Bryant III, who's averaging 14.1 PPG and 7.6 RPG so far this season. Jordan Mickey (13.3 PPG and 6.9 RPG) and Andre Stringer have also been central to LSU's success and should have good games again tonight. The Tigers should be buoyed by an outstanding effort against Vanderbilt and we look for them to carry that over against Missouri.
College Basketball Pick: LSU Tigers -4.5
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. Boston College Eagles
The Eagles have only five wins to their name this season, yet they're still favored by 4.5 points over the visiting Yellow Jackets, who are 10-8 SU on the year.
Both teams have failed to be profitable, with Georgia Tech at 5-7 ATS and the Eagles at a dreadful 4-12 ATS.
Since ACC play started, the Yellow Jackets have gone 1-4 SU and 2-3 ATS. Their one win came at home over Notre Dame, but they're coming off consecutive losses to Pittsburgh (74-81) and Miami (42-56).
As for Boston College, they're 1-3 SU and ATS in conference action, with one road win over Virginia Tech so far. Their three losses have come against UNC, Syracuse and Clemson.
When it comes down to it, we think the Eagles are favored in this situation for a reason. They do have some talent, highlighted by guard Olivier Hanlan and forward Ryan Anderson. Hanlan averages 18.9 points per game and can get hot at any given moment, while Anderson has been good for 15.1 PPG and 7.3 RPG this season. We believe those two will run the show tonight.
Moreover, the Eagles have a great track record against the Yellow Jackets. They've won three straight meetings straight up and have cashed ATS in five of the past six matchups over the year.
So while it's been a tough season for Boston College, we do think they'll show up with a good effort tonight en route to a SU victory and ATS cover. Let's take the Eagles to get the job done as we round up our free picks for Tuesday.
