Allen Fieldhouse features the game of the night as Frank "The Tank" Mason III and his #3 Kansas Jayhawks face a stiff test from the 13th ranked West Virginia Mountaineers. Can WVU stop Mason III?

West Virginia Mountaineers vs Kansas Jayhawks

West Virginia would like nothing better than to play the spoiler role and upset Kansas as the Jayhawks currently hold the top spot in the Big 12 Conference with a 1 game lead over Baylor, That aside, a win over Kansas would look outstanding on West Virginia's resume as the seedings for the Big Dance come out and these are both teams that will be placed high. Kansas hold's victories over Duke, Kentucky, and Baylor, but they certainly haven't been a bettor's best friend as they're just 7-15-1 ATS.

Frank Mason III

This is the little man that's been shouldering the load for KU along with the help of freshman Josh Jackson (16.6 points, 7 rebounds). Although it's Jackson who has been the hottest player on the team as of late as he's coming off of a 31 point performance against Texas Tech and averaging has had 4 double-doubles in his last 5 games. Mason III is still the go-to guy in big game situations as he possesses a lot of experience and let's not forget, this is a guy that's shooting over 50% from beyond the arc. Look for this combination to lead the way in a big game against a very tough defense in West Virginia.

As for West Virginia, this is a team that averages 86 points per game while only allowing 65.8 points per contest. They're also a team with no definitive go-to guy but possess a lot of depth and in a scenario such as that, it keep's the players fresh and makes for a strong defense.

WVU Team Depth

Leading scorer, Jevon Carter has been struggling as of late as he's had 3 consecutive games of single-digit scoring against Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Iowa State. Carter then came up big in WVU's last game against Kansas State with a 19 point, 9 rebound, and, 2 steal effort. West Virginia will need someone to step up on the offensive end as Kansas can light up the scoreboard.

While Kansas has been dominant all season long, I like the depth and defense on this West Virginia squad and they'll be up for this game.
