I’ve made the mistake of watching UCLA play in the last couple of games, which makes me more unsure of this pick than I should be. The superlatives being laid upon this team are well deserved at the moment, as they are playing excellent basketball.

Washington State Cougars vs UCLA Bruins

Washington State has not had much success playing on the road at UCLA over the years, and I expect that trend to continue on Saturday night. The oddsmakers expect this as well, having made the Cougars 21.5-point underdogs in this game against the Bruins. Washington State is 1-6 ATS against UCLA on the road in their last seven meetings.

However, late injury reports change everything, and I’ve just learned that UCLA’s 6’ 10” forward, TJ Leaf, will not likely see the floor against Washington State on Saturday. Leaf was the major match up issue for Washington State in their first game, as he put up 32 points and 14 rebounds in their 95-79 win. His absence is enough for me to take the points with the Cougs for my college basketball pick here, as UCLA may start preserving energy for the Pac-12 tournament after building any substantial lead behind future lottery pick, Lorenzo Ball.
