Time is running short for the Michigan State Spartans as this is a program that's used to winning. Tonight is a game that the Spartans must win as they host the Ohio State Buckeyes and are a 7.5 point betting favorite.

Scrambling To Get to The Big Dance

This is also a must-win situation for Ohio State, but their 5-8 inter-conference record is a real red mark on their season and the NCAA voting committee frowns upon teams with poor inter-conference records. That said, the Buckeyes are the team to the victory in the previous meeting between these two teams as they won 72-67. Michigan State, which has been very inconsistent this season, will surely be looking for revenge, but more importantly, they're looking for a spot at the Big Dance.

 Miles Bridges

After missing a handful of games, the 6 foot 7 freshman is seeing a massive amount of minutes and his play could get Michigan State back into the mix as he's proven to be a player that can deliver when called upon.

For the season, Bridges leads the Spartans at 16.2 points and 8.3 rebounds. He has great size for a guard and can put the rock in the ocean efficiently as his 40% shooting from 3-point range indicates. Bridges is coming off of a huge 16 point, 11 rebound, 4 blocks, and 3 assist effort in a victory over Iowa and look for him to have a big game in a big spot tonight as he's a fantastic two-way player that appears to be able to handle the pressure.

Close Calls

As for the Buckeyes, they've had a very tough schedule, but haven't been able to cash in on beating any of the top teams in the nation or in the conference for that matter and that's been their downfall. They usually play a competitive game no matter what the outcome is.

In their last 4 games, they're 2-2 with wins over Rutgers and Michigan but have lost to Maryland twice. Each of these losses was by a margin of 10 points or less. We could possibly see Michigan State coming out on top, but the spread appears to be very highs as Ohio State rarely get's blown out.

Ohio State will look for forwarding Jae'Sean Tate to produce in this game as he's coming off of a 20 point effort in the loss to Maryland. At 6 foot 4, 230 pounds, Tate has a little bit of Charles Barkley in him and he'll be looking to be aggressive tonight.
