After splitting their regular season matchups, the Michigan Wolverines and Illinois Fighting Illini square off Thursday to open Day 2 of the Big Ten Tournament. Will Beilein's boys or Groce's guys come out on top?

Illinois Fighting Illini vs Michigan Wolverines

Michigan (20-11 straight up, 12-16 against the spread) won some big games after we got to February, taking down both Purdue and Wisconsin. But the Wolverines never could find any consistency along the way and failed to cover the NCAA basketball odds in three of their last five, each of those contests sailing past the totals.

Illinois (18-13 SU, 13-15-1 ATS) seemed to be finding its rhythm in February with a string of 4-straight victories, but losing to Rutgers in the season finale might ultimately be the nail in the Fighting Illini's coffin as far as the NCAA Tournament goes. They split with Michigan during the regular season, each side winning and covering at home.

Early support for the Illini at BetOnline dipped the price on Michigan to -4½, 134½ for the total. I'm going to back the Maize & Blue in this one.
