The North Carolina Tarheels are possibly the overall team to beat. They've faced high-level competition and have conquered. Now, staring them in the face is another top contender in the #16 Wisconsin Badgers. Is this the day that North Carolina goes down?

#16 Wisconsin Badgers vs. #4 North Carolina Tarheels

Riding the Carolina Winning Train

This is just what I've been doing and I've been very successful. Odds makers have been placing the Tarheels as heavy favorites against bottom-feeders such as Chaminade and the number can only be placed so high. These type of early-season mismatches are easy covers and it also doesn't hurt that North Carolina is a very experienced squad with possibly the most talent in the nation.

Rough Ride For the Cowboys

Oklahoma State was another team that thought that they could "hang with the Heels", but I knew that they had no chance and that's just what the outcome proved as North Carolina won 107-75.

Jawun Evans did get his points as expected. 30 of them to be exact, but one player can't beat a well-rounded basketball club. North Carolina outshot the Cowboys 57.8 % to 36.1 % from the field and also outrebounded the Cowboys 44-32. Leading scorer, guard, Joel Berry II, had a very efficient and productive game from offensively as he led the Tarheels with 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists on 7 of 10 shooting from the field and 4 of 6 from beyond the arc.

Multiple players on the Tarheels squad can step up and lead the team. Justin Jackson (16 points, 4.5 rebounds), Isaiah Hicks (14.7 points, 5.5 rebounds) and Kennedy Meeks (13.5 points, 9.8 rebounds) are all big-time players and their production will be needed against Wisconsin, who year in, year out, have been known for their ability to play lockdown defense.

With the exception of a very disappointing 79-67 loss to Creighton, the Wisconsin Badgers have been very successful and the defense has played a major role in their success. If you take out the loss to Creighton, the Badgers have allowed 54.3 points on defense. While these opponents haven't been the caliber of the Tarheels, its' something for UNC to think about.

Bronson Koenig

The senior guard has matured throughout his collegiate career and is now the go-to guy on this top 25 squad. Koenig is averaging 17.6 points per game and is coming off of back to back 20 plus point efforts. What I like about this player is if the game comes down to the wire, he's reliable. He's shooting 90% from the free throw line and is a pressure player. Look for Koenig and Ethan Happ (11.6 points, 9.4 rebounds) to provide the Heels their biggest test to date.

I've been riding the excellence of the Tarheels squad and I'm not about to stop now. UNC is the NCAA basketball pick.
