Shockers go for a Walk in the Park
As I anticipated, and indicated in my published article right here at SBR Forum , the Wichita State Shockers had no trouble with the #16 seed Cal Poly Mustangs in the 2nd round, and improved their record to 35-0 for the season. The Shockers hammered the Mustangs 64-37 and easily covered as a 16.5 point favorite. They held Cal Poly to an atrocious 21% shooting from the field and held a large 46-34 rebounding advantage. A couple of issues the Shockers may want to clean up was their free throw shooting, and cutting down on their turnovers. They were just 12-21 (57%) from the charity stripe and committed 13 turnovers in the win over Cal Poly.

A Huge Test for a Storied Program
The Kentucky Wildcats have been a bit inconsistent at times this season, but there’s no denying this is athletically gifted team, and has a plethora of talent. They disposed of Kansas State in their opening game of the NCAA Tournament 56-49, and covered as a 6.0 point favorite. Kentucky was able to advance in large part due to their stellar defensive play. They were able to hold Kansas St. to just 36% shooting from the field while holding them under the 50-point mark. Kentucky was also dominant on the boards holding a large 40-28 advantage in that category. On a negative note, they shot just 38% from the field, 27% from beyond the three-point line, and turned the ball over 15-times. They will have to be much better in all of those categories on Sunday if they hope to knock off the top seed in the region.
