The Creighton Bluejays are one of the more efficient offensive teams in the country, which should lead to opportunities against the Baylor Bears Sunday. Where does the best value lie for our NCAA Tournament picks?

Let’s take a closer look at the NCAA Tournament odds for this Third Round matchup in the West Region at the AT&T Center.

The time is now
Creighton has never won consecutive games in 26 previous appearances in the Big Dance or NIT, as the program tries to end that streak after picking up a 76-66 victory over Louisiana as 13.5-point favorites in the Second Round Friday.

The Bluejays are led by senior forward Greg McDermott, who now owns more NCAA Tourney points (114) and field goals (38) than any other player in school history.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the program is 15-5 SU and 10-8 ATS on a neutral floor.

Trending upward
Baylor is 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS over its last eight games, as it advanced past the Nebraska Cornhuskers by picking up a 14-point win Friday, while going OVER the betting total of 130.

The Bears have compiled a solid 26-9 SU record in conference and national tournaments the last six seasons.

College basketball handicappers will find that the team is 16-7 SU and 13-9-1 ATS in March since the start of the 2011-12 campaign.

No. 3 seeds
The Bluejays are worthy favorites on the SBR Odds page due to No. 3 seeds capturing wins in 10 of their last 12 opportunities against No. 6 seeds.

Creighton has also won all three all-time meetings with Baylor, with those games being played in 1962, 1998 and 1999.

Getting to the charity stripe
The Bears only knocked down 17 of 42 field goal attempts versus the Cornhuskers, but benefited greatly in getting to the free throw line 48 times—their most visits to the charity stripe in the Scott Drew era.

Baylor may have a hard time duplicating that number, as Creighton is known for playing efficiently on defense without sending opponents to the line.

Best Sportsbooks to Bet the NCAA Tournament

I’m going to recommend that readers play the total as one of their NCAA Tournament picks, as the OVER is 4-0 in the Bears’ last four games in the Big Dance.

Creighton is one of the top teams in the country in assisting on field goal makes, which will make it hard on a Baylor squad that doesn’t do a great job in stopping opponents that move the ball well offensively.
