Creighton Bluejays

The Bluejays are currently tied with Villanova for first place in the Big East standings with a 9-1 straight up record.

Their one loss came at Providence (68-81) in the middle of January. Since that game, Creighton has won four games in a row, with three of those coming by double digits.

It's not like the competition has been easy either. The Bluejays completely dominated Villanova (96-68) and that was on the road. Days later, they beat Georgetown by 13 at home.

On Friday, Doug McDermott and company scooted past DePaul in a 78-66 win at home. McDermott hit 9-of-21 shots for 32 points and added nine rebounds in the winning effort. Austin Chatman (11 points) was the only other player to hit double figures.

The Bluejays once again proved their offensive superiority in the win over the Blue Demons. On the season they're averaging 81.2 points per game on 49.2 percent shooting overall and 42.6 percent from three. They haven't been too bad (65.6 PPG allowed) on the other side of the ball either.

St. John's Red Storm

Quietly the Red Storm have been playing some very good basketball. They've won five of their last six games both straight up and against the spread, making college basketball bettors very happy in the process.

Included in there are road victories over Providence (86-76) and Butler (69-52) along with home wins over Dartmouth, Seton Hall and Marquette.

It was an excellent performance across the board against the Friars. They survived an onsluaght from Bryce Cotton (32 points), shooting 50.0 percent overall, 54.4 percent from three and 81.8 percent from the line to grab the double-digit victory.

D'Angelo Harrison, as usual, led the way for St. John's, scoring 22 points with six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Jakarr Sampson helped the cause with 21 points and seven boards in 35 minutes of play.

Harrison, though, is the one player Creighton will be most concerned about. He's putting up great numbers (18.3 PPG and 4.3 RPG) and has totaled 49 points over his last two appearances, setting the stage for a showdown with one of the best players in the country in McDermott.

NCAA Basketball Picks of the Day for Sunday

College Basketball Pick

Creighton may have won the first meeting this season, but it didn't come easy. The Bluejays only won by four points on their home floor and McDermott's 39 points were pretty much the only reason they emerged victorious.

What kind of outcome will we see in the rematch?

To us, the value is with the Bluejays, who are 6-3 ATS away from home this season. Their offense is scary good when it gets clicking and it all it takes is one big run from McDermott and company to guide Creighton to this road win. Take the road team make it a season sweep tonight for our college basketball picks.
