The N.C. State Wolfpack has been very successful this 2016-2017 NCAA basketball season, but are just 1-2 in ACC play. A trip to Chestnut Hill might be just what the doctor ordered for the Wolfpack.

North Carolina State Wolfpack vs Boston College Eagles

The Wolfpack would quickly like to forget their last game, a 107-56 blowout at the hands of the North Carolina Tarheels. N.C. State's starting 5 managed just 36 points and turned the ball over the 26 times. This is a game that the Wolfpack would quickly like to forget, but have they lost confidence is the question as they come into this game?

Most of the N.C. State's success has come against unranked opponents and the Eagles fit into that category. This is a Boston College team which has lost 2 straight games but did manage to be competitive in their last game, a 93-82 loss to Duke.

Mr. Consistency

Guard Jerome Robinson has really improved his numbers in his sophomore season. He's averaging 20.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. Consistency is the name of the game for this player as he's scored from 20 to 22 points in his last 5 games. This includes a 21 point game against Duke. At 6 foot 5, 190 pounds, Robinson can also grab some rebounds and is a solid two-way player. This is definitely a player that N.C. State need's to contain, but still expect Robinson to get his usual 20 points as he never met a shot that he didn't like.

Ky Bowman

Another player for the Wolfpack defense to key in on is B.C. freshman Ky Bowman. Bowman has progressed nicely in his first year at the collegiate level. He has 2- 30 plus point efforts in his last 5 games and chipped in with 19 points against Duke. Boston College has a very formidable 1-2 punch in the form of Robinson and Bowman.

ACC Freshman of the Week

The Wolfpack are a team that beat's their opponent down with a ton of team depth. One player that's had some major success this season is freshman guard Dennis Smith Jr. Winning ACC Freshman of the week won't be a one-time occurrence for Smith Jr. as he's learning to master the game at the collegiate level and then go pro.

For the season, Smith Jr.is averaging 19.1 points, 6.4 assists, and 4.2 rebounds as this is a very active player at just 6 foot 3. His biggest game of the season came against a ranked Virginia Tech Hokies squad in which he led the Wolfpack with a triple-double. For N.C. State to go anywhere this season in terms of a NCAA Tournament bid, Dennis Smith Jr. must keep continuing to shine.

Look for the Wolfpack to cover the spread in this game after they were embarrassed by North Carolina.
