Coming off a beating at the hands of Gonzaga, the Huskies face a tall order tonight as the Wolf Pack have played quite well this season. Is Nevada good value as the betting underdog?

Nevada Wolf Pack vs Washington Huskies

Are the Huskies "Legitimate?"

Remember, this is a team that lost to Yale early in the season and that's all that you really need to know. The Huskies do face higher level competition than Nevada, but they haven't found much luck this season and could have a tough time here. One member of the Huskies squad that might have an influence on this game is a freshman, Markelle Fultz. Fultz has really excelled at the collegiate level Washington will rely heavily on him in this game.

Fantastic Freshman

At 6 foot 4, 195 pounds, Markelle Fultz can do it all. He's averaging an eye-popping 23 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.9 assists and is shooting nearly 50 % from beyond the arc. Fultz has already proven that he can deal with the nation's best as he produced 25 points and 10 rebounds in the loss to Gonzaga. He doesn't carry the weight that Charles Barkley used to, but he carries the same rebounding ability as an undersized rebounding force. Nevada will be hard pressed to contain Fultz as he's on a different level than everyone else.

Where the Wolf Pack are concerned, they haven't faced the toughest schedule in the world and one loss that does bother me is the loss to Iona. Iona has improved as an overall squad, but they're still considered a low-level weak conference basketball team.

 Marcus Marshall and Cameron Oliver

We look past Iona and Nevada does pack a nice 1-2 punch in Marcus Marshall (19.1 points, 3.6 assists) and Cameron Oliver (15.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks).

While Marshall's shot making decisions leave a lot to be desired, he's still a consistent offensive producer and every team needs a player like this.

As for Oliver, he had a strong freshman season and is building upon that with a strong sophomore campaign. His defense is every bit as important to Nevada as his offense. That said, Cameron Oliver is a 43.9% shooter from beyond the arc and this is a player that contributes in so many different ways. Oliver is coming off of a poor showing in Nevada's 91-69 victory over Bradley and expects a bounce back performance from him here.

Although I'm very impressed with Markelle Fultz, Washington has been underperforming as a team. Take Nevada and the points for you NCAA basketball picks.
