Dwayne Bacon and Florida State are a team nobody wants to see in March but Notre Dame isn’t either and the Seminoles and Fighting Irish bang heads in the Big Apple on Friday night with the survivor headed to the Finals to face the North Carolina-Duke winner. Let’s look at all the Trends and find a pick between two dark horse teams already in The Big Dance and not too worried about their seeding this coming weekend on Selection Sunday as March Madness continues to dribble and silently take us from Winter into Spring.

Florida State vs. Notre Dame

Dwayne Bacon (16.9 ppg), Terance Mann and Florida State (+3501 to win NCAA Championship, BookMaker) are one of the six teams we told you about as March Madness Bracket Busters from the states of Indiana and Florida last week and the athletic Seminoles (83.0 ppg, #17) have impressed Thursday, rallying to beat Virginia Tech and but failing to cover ATS as decent 8-point favorites, 74-68 (158). Here in Friday’s second Semifinals matchup, the 2nd-seeded Seminoles (Under 5-1 L6) lock horns with another March Madness Bracket Buster team whom we trumpeted in #3 seed Notre Dame (80/1 to win NCAA Championship, WagerWeb), who ousted the best defensive team in the nation in Virginia in its ACC tourney debut Thursday night as Bonzie Colson (17.0 ppg, 10.4 rpg) showed why he is one of the best players in the nation as the Fighting Irish (17-8-1 ATS) snapped a 10-game losing streak to the Cavaliers, 71-58, winning outright as 3½-point underdogs (124). Notre Dame heads in 7-2 ATS L9 overall and had played 4 straight Unders before Friday’s Semi trickled over with 1:07 to play on an uncontested Hoos slam dunk.

When these two met in the Regular Season, Notre Dame won 84-72 at South Bend, covering as 1-point underdog (154½) while in Tallahassee, the Seminoles won 83-80, failing to cover as a 5½-point chalk (155). So, two Regular Season meetings, two Fighting Irish Covers and 2 Overs, by 1½ and 8 points. A Futures bet on the Noles at 35/1 and/or Matt Farrell and the Irish at 80/1 both seem wiser than betting on this Champ Week contest. A slight lean to Florida State—who have played 4 straight Unders and covered 4 of 5 ATS heading in—in a pacey game.
