Louisville lands in a difficult situational spot at the KFC Yum! Center, which makes Florida International a dangerous road underdog Friday night.

Road Trippin’
Florida International is set to begin an eight-game road trip, which can’t be ignored, as they won’t play another home game for 44 days.

The Golden Panthers have put together a 5-3 SU record through eight games due ranking first in Conference USA and 26th nationally in holding opponents to an average of 56.1 points per game.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the program is 0-7 SU and 2-5 ATS as road underdogs of 12.5 or more points, with the OVER going 3-1 in four opportunities.

Name the Score
Louisville has won the first three meetings in this series by an average of 30.0 points, which is important to consider when looking over the college basketball odds, as it has won 31 straight games at home against non-conference opponents.

The Cardinals are led offensively by AP Preseason All-American Montrezl Harrell, who has scored in double figures in an ACC-leading 18 consecutive games.

Sports bettors will find that the squad is 5-0 SU and 2-3 ATS as home favorites of 24.5 to 30 points since the start of the 2012-13 campaign.

Guard Play
The Golden Panthers need their trio of starting guards to play at a high level in hopes of covering as a large road underdog, especially since Jason Boswell, Dennis Mavin and Dominque Williams combined to play 84 minutes in last year’s 85-56 loss to the Cardinals as 20.5-point home underdogs.

Mavin is the key player to handicap in this non-conference matchup, as he’s finished with at least 15 points in six of eight contests this year.

Sandwich Situation
The Cardinals certainly land in a sandwich situation to open up the month of December, as they picked up an impressive 64-55 victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes as nine-point home favorites earlier this week, while they’ll take on the Indiana Hoosiers in New York City next Tuesday.

Louisville has compiled a 26-5 SU record during this calendar month over the last four years, but the roster is also finishing up final exams with the last day of classes on campus being Monday.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Golden Panthers as one of their NCAA Basketball picks tonight, as they’ve gone 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games versus Atlantic Coast Conference opponents.
