Oklahoma State knocked off Baylor in their ‘Remember the Ten’ game last year, commemorating the Cowboys plane crash tragedy that left ten dead 15 years ago.

The Cowboys are more than capable of knocking off Baylor once again tonight in an emotional setting at Gallagher-Iba Arena; a prime revenge spot after getting wiped out by the Bears when these teams met in Waco three weeks ago.

We’ve seen the Cowboys step up against quality foes at home repeatedly throughout the Travis Ford era.  The Cowboys beat a pair of Top 10 teams on this floor last year.  They took Oklahoma to the wire, in a spread covering two point loss, then knocked off Kansas by 19 in their last two home games, playing well against Top 5 opposition.

Coach Ford: ”Our guys fully understand the challenge that lies ahead… When you’re upsetting teams, you better have a grasp of who you are and what needs to be done…..the mentality you have to play with has to be off the chart. You have to fully grasp what’s going on around you. You’ve got to play at a very high level, make very few mistakes.”

Baylor has not been able to play their best basketball on the road this year.  They got blasted in all three of their early season road tilts, losing at Oregon, Texas &M and Kansas by a combined 54 points, going 0-3 ATS agains the NCAA Basketball odds in those contests.  They eked out a three point win at Texas Tech (2-6 in Big 12 play) in their last road contest.  But one solid road win at Iowa State – a game where the Bears hit 52% from the floor against a relatively weak defensive foe – has left them as an overvalued commodity on the highway moving forward.

Baylor is coming off a confidence shattering home loss to the Sooners last weekend, allowing 62% shooting while committing 16 turnovers that led to 28 points in transition for the Sooners.  They are just 5-26 SU on their last 31 visits to Stillwater.  I don’t trust the Bears defensively in hostile environments, nor do I trust their mentality for NCAA Basketball picks following that disappointing loss to the Sooners.
