Our NCAA basketball handicapping professional shares two of his NCAA basketball totals picks that he’ll be making on Saturday’s early portion of the card.

Georgetown vs. Providence 1:00 PM ET
Georgetown has gone 4-1 over the total during its last five games, and there was a combined average of 148.2 points scored per contest. The Hoyas are 16th nationally in free throw percentage, converting on 75.4% of their attempts. They’ve been even better than that in conference play going 77.1% from the charity stripe. The Hoyas are also converting on a stellar 38.1% of its three point tries during Big East action.

Speaking of free throws, Providence has made 74.1% of their tries during its last five games, and averaged a sizable 24 attempts per contest. The Friars have allowed 77.8 points per game in their last five contests.

Both of these teams have played an accelerated offensive pace in recent games. During their last five outings, Georgetown is averaging 60 field goal attempts per game. The last five Providence games have averaged a combined 126 field goal attempts. Providence has scored 70 points or more in six of their previous eight games.

Since 2/10/2014 these schools have met four times, and each one of those contests went over the total. Make it five in a row on for one of my Saturday NCAA basketball picks.

Kentucky vs. South Carolina 12:00 PM ET
Kentucky has been red-hot offensively during its previous five games. In that time frame, they averaged 82.2 points per game, shot 50.2% from the floor, and converted on an exceptional 40.6% of their three point attempts. They’ll be facing a team (South Carolina) today that’s allowed its opponents to shoot 39.3% from three point territory during their previous five outings. The Wildcats have scored 76 points or more in its last seven, and nine of their previous ten games. Kentucky has also shot 51.7% or better in five of their last six contests.

South Carolina has gone over the total in each of their previous four home games, those contests averaged a combined 157.5 points scored per game. The Gamecocks have converted on a stellar 38.5% of its three point attempts in its last five contests. South Carolina has averaged a massive 32 free throw attempts per game during their previous five outings. They should receive plenty more opportunities on Saturday, versus an opponent (Kentucky) that’s allowed 29 free throw attempts per contest in their last five.

Relative to current (2/12 at 9:45 PM ET) NCAA basketball odds at Heritage, this game has all the signs of surpassing the number.
