Saturday's slate is chock-full of NCAA hoops action and we see a few live dogs that are poised to not only cover the number but win outright. Let's review the college basketball odds and pluck a pair of underdogs with plenty of bite to go with their bark.

Notre Dame (12-3 SU, 5-5 ATS) vs. Syracuse (12-3 SU, 6-7 ATS)

Free College Basketball Pick: Notre Dame +6Best Line Offered: at 5Dimes

* Syracuse is 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games.

* Syracuse is 1-4 ATS in their last five home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

* Syracuse is 15-36-2 ATS in their last 53 Saturday games.

* Notre Dame is 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600.

* Notre Dame is 14-6-1 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a winning percentage above .600.

* Notre Dame is 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as a road underdog of 0.5-6.5.

Notre Dame's Matt Farrell and Bonzie Colson will not suit up in this one with Farrell dealing with an ankle sprain he sustained in Wednesday's 88-58 thumping of NC State while the All-American Colson is out indefinitely with a foot injury. But that won't deter me from backing the Irish in my college basketball picks.

In their last outing, Notre Dame melted the Wolfpack with a nine-man rotation and young guns like freshman D.J. Harvey, who started in Colson's place, had a career-high 17 points and sophomore TJ Gibbs shot 50 percent from the floor for a game-high 22 points. Junior guard Rex Pflueger bucketed 16 points and senior forward Martinas Geben had a game-high 13 boards.

The college basketball odds board reflects the Irish getting a solid six-point head start at all the major online sportsbooks. This is an overcorrection and an overreaction to the Colson/Farrell injuries because Irish head coach Mike Brey has this team playing as a cohesive unit and not relying on one player to win the day. Back the road dog here against a Syracuse team that wilted in the late stages of their 73-67 loss to ACC foe Wake Forest in their last outing on Wednesday night.

Western Illinois (8-5 SU, 6-3 ATS) vs. Oral Roberts (6-11 SU, 8-6 ATS)

Free College Basketball Pick: Western Illinois +7 ½Best Line Offered: at Bookmaker

* Oral Roberts is 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games as a favorite.

* Oral Roberts is 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a straight up win.

* Oral Roberts is 7-16 ATS in their last 23 games as a home favorite.

* Western Illinois is 6-0 ATS in their last six games vs. a team with a winning percentage below .400.

* Western Illinois is 4-0 ATS in their last four games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.

* Western Illinois is 5-0 ATS in their last five games as an underdog of 0.5-6.5.

In the last six lined games that Western Illinois has played at Oral Roberts, the Leathernecks have covered the spread in each and every one. Western Illinois, as underdogs in both contests, defeated the Golden Eagles outright in their pair of meetings last season. Some teams just match up well against others and history tells us that the Leathernecks not only cover when they play the Golden Eagles but win outright.

If the money line on Western Illinois is peaking your interest then get on over to 5Dimes where you will get a +290 return on your money. However, I will play it safe and grab all of those delicious points at Bookmaker.
