Normally one of the favorites wagers is to bet against teams in this tournament who shot over 60 percent in last game. One problem, both Cincinnati and UCLA did on Friday night, losing that edge.

Cincinnati Breakdown

For making college basketball picks, Cincinnati (30-5, 17-14-1 ATS) is an iffy choice at +4 because of their shooting. Though the Bearcats are a much improved offensive team compared to recent coach Mick Cronin clubs, they have been teetering back and forth. Case in point is Cincinnati's past 14 contests, where five times they have shot 49 percent or better and on seven occasions they have been under 40 percent. While the UCLA defense is not air tight, this inconsistency makes backing the Bearcats a real conundrum, especially since they only average 64.8 PPG away from the Queen City.

UCLA Breakdown

If you are reviewing the college basketball odds, you might have noticed UCLA (30-4, 16-18 ATS) is on 0-5 and 1-6 ATS run as a single digit favorite lately. It should be noted those were in Pac-12 play and prior to that they were 4-0 ATS playing out of conference. As we know, the Bruins are about the offense, averaging 90.6 PPG and once they are on their side of the floor, they are a threat to score. Cincinnati will prove a challenge because they are excellent defenders and nobody in the Pac-12 plays that physical of defense.

 What to Watch For

The Bruins have not covered any of their last four games and are 3-7 ATS in last 10. Yet even with that, I do not have the faith Cincinnati will have another outstanding shooting night even versus the UCLA defense and I am just more comfortable giving this many points.
