The Zags will try to clinch the West Coast Conference crown tonight as they reacquaint themselves with the Cougars who are a distant second. But let's try to determine which side is the rights side to back in our college basketball picks.

Gonzaga Bulldogs (23-4 SU, 13-12 ATS in lined games)

Gonzaga has won nine of its last ten and covered in six of those games. Their last outing was an 86-67 dismantling of Loyola-Marymount where they covered the 16 ½ point impost in NCAAM odds on Saturday night. The Bulldogs broke through the top 25 rankings with that victory and hope to climb the rankings rather than fall down the ladder. With only four games remaining in their regular season schedule the Bulldogs look towards building a strong resume towards a prime seat at the Big Dance.

Senior Sam Dower drained 25 points and attacked the glass with 15 boards to his credit in the win over Loyola-Marymount. The team as a whole connected on 46.8 percent of their shots from the field and 32 percent from beyond the arc. Sharp shooting has been the hallmark to the Zags' success this season as they are firing at a startling 50 percent from the floor on the season (ranked 4th in the nation) and averaging 78.4 points per contest which ranks them 33rd in the country.

BYU Cougars (18-10 SU, 10-15 ATS in lined games)

While Gonzaga was throttling LMU on Saturday night, BYU was busy eking out a 60-57 road victory over St. Mary's as 3 ½ point road pups. Junior guard Tyler Haws dropped a team high 18 points on the Gales but BYU was outrebounded 36-29 and connected on only 1-of-8 three-point shots. The team was limited to only 60 points but their tight defense proved to be enough to get the job done.

The Cougars are a scoring juggernaut this season. They average 85.5 PPG and are a menace on the glass, ranking 6th in the country for rebounds. The Cougars have shined at home this season registering a 12-1 mark straight up but have not made their backers very happy as they have covered only 4 of their 10 lined home games in basketball odds. The aforementioned Tyler Haws is leading the WCC in scoring with a 24.7 average but over the past three games he has averaged only 19 points on 41.2 percent shooting. The Cougars are hoping Haws can get his shooting groove back if they are to prevail tonight in front of the fan friendlies.

Free College Basketball Pick:

The Bulldogs can shut the door on the conference title with a win over the Cougars tonight but BYU would like to prove that at home they are kings. The teams have met once this season back on January 25th and it resulted in an 84-69 Bulldogs victory and cover in college basketball odds as nine-point home chalk. The venue has changed and BYU has reeled off five wins over their last six games. It will undoubtedly be a more competitive contest this time around.

So who do we like here in our NCAA college basketball picks and why do we like them? The oddsmakers are dealing this line with the home team BYU installed as two-point favorites in NCAA college basketball odds. I have to agree with that assessment because even though Gonzaga handily dispatched BYU in January there will be a different complexion to this game. BYU can run with the Zags and can certainly keep the same offensive pace. But the Cougars should enjoy a big advantage on the glass and coupled with the home court advantage they have exploited throughout the year, I like BYU to prevail and cover in NCAA basketball odds.
