The Wildcats are still undefeated on the season, but things are going to get even more difficult now that we've reached Big East play. Who are we recommending with our college basketball picks?

Odds Overview
Right now Villanova is favored by six points on the college basketball betting odds board. A book here or there has a line of 6.5, but for the most part we're at six. Make sure you shop around for the best possible number using SBR's odds monitoring service.

Some sites don't have a total available, but we can find a number of 137.5 available at certain outlets.

Seton Hall Pirates
All is well for the Pirates right now. They showed up and took care of business against a good St. John's team, winning 78-67 and easily covering as the NCAA betting underdogs. The win pushed Seton Hall to 11-2 on the season and got their Big East resume padded nice and early.

There were a few standout performers for the Pirates in the win over the Red Storm. Sterling Gibbs was excellent throughout, scoring 25 points to go with eight assists (and zero turnovers) in 38 minutes of action. Angel Delgado had 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Brandon Mobley came up with 13 points and 10 boards. Khadeen Carrington chipped in with 11 points off the bench for Seton Hall. As a team, the Pirates shot 46.0 percent overall and a stellar 43.5 percent (10-of-23) from beyond the arc.

Gibbs has been the main inspiration Seton Hall, at least scoring wise, as he's averaging a team-best 16.3 points per game. Delgado, Mobley and Isaiah Whitehad have also been instrumental to the Pirates' early successes and will look to continue their great play against another top-notch program in Villanova.

Villanova Wildcats
If you've been waiting for the Wildcats to falter, you're still waiting. They're a perfect 13-0 and have already been battle-tested quite a bit, having topped the likes of Michigan, VCU, Syracuse and Butler. Pretty good, right?

Villanova looked great in a 12-point win over the Bulldogs on New Year's Eve. As usual, it was another balanced effort from the Wildcats, who got eight or more points from five different players. Ryan Arcidiacono had 15 points and five assists, Daniel Ochefu had 10 points and nine rebounds, while JayVaughn Pinkston went for 13 points, three rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. Villanova did most of their damage defensively though, holding Butler to 35.5 percent shooting overall and forcing 14 turnovers.

Balance has been the name of the game for the Wildcats throughout 2014 and into 2015, and that's made them an incredibly difficult team to beat. They have seven different players who average at least 7.8 points and four who are averaging in double figures, with Pinkston, Darrun Hilliard II, Dylan Ennis and Josh Hart all putting up good numbers. Ditto with Ochefu, who's averaging 9.5 PPG and 7.5 RPG thus far.

NCAA Basketball Pick
We were on the wrong side in the Pirates' last game with St. John's, but we haven't learned our lesson apparently. We'll be fading Seton Hall once again this weekend, this time rolling with Villanova as our NCAA Basketball pick.

It's been a great ride for the Wildcats so far and it's tough to go against a team that hasn't tasted defeat even once. They're a fantastic 13-0 on the year and have already picked up a number of great wins, so it's not like they've just been cruising through a bad non-conference schedule and will therefore not be prepared for the Big East.

It's quite the opposite. Villanova is clicking in every which way imaginable right now and just wrapped up a double-digit W over Butler the other day. In thinking that the balanced Wildcats will hold strong in a tough environment inside the Prudential Center, we're looking for them to cover as six-point chalk.
