Two big road underdogs appear to have value Tuesday as Providence plays at Villanova, and Clemson visits Virginia. Are there enough points to back the dogs with your NCAAB picks?

Top-ranked Villanova is arguably the best team in the country and they are a big -14.5 home favorite tonight on the NCAAB odds board, but I will back the underdog in Providence plus the points. In their last six matchups Providence has beaten Villanova just once, but each time they have stayed within this big number set by oddsmakers today. Recently, Providence is on a four-game winning streak, and even though three those games were at home, I like how they match up with Villanova.

The Friars have been good on both sides of the ball this season, shooting 47 percent from the floor and ranking in the top part of NCAA basketball in most defensive categories. What will be crucial tonight is defending from beyond the arc because Villanova is averaging 28 attempts from distance and knocking down 11.7 of those, ranking them 16th and second in the country, respectively. This is what Providence does very well as they are allowing opponents to shoot just 30.5 percent from distance to rank 15th. Although Villanova should definitely win this game, this is just too many points, so with my NCAAB pick I will take Providence and the points.

Free NCAAB Pick: Clemson +9Best Line Offered: Bookmaker

This could arguably be the best Clemson team we have seen the past few years, but once again Virginia is locking teams down on defense. Virginia was made a big -9 home favorite on the NCAAB odds board, but for my NCAAB pick I will back Clemson plus the points. Clemson just finished taking care business against a Notre Dame team that plays really good defense, and I like for the Tigers to come in and give Virginia all they want. If we look at their past three matchups, Virginia has won all three SU but Clemson has put up a fight in each one, staying within this number that oddsmakers have set in this spot.

Although even the best teams have struggled to score against Virginia, Clemson should be able to put up enough points as they average 48 percent from the floor and rank 30th in the country in shooting efficiency. On the other side of the ball Clemson is no joke, allowing opponents to shoot just 40.6 percent from the floor and ranking in the top part of the country in most defensive categories. On top of all this, they will not be surprised by anything Virginia brings to the table as they been in the ACC together for quite some time and these two coaches know each other very well. This is just too many points.
