West Virginia is the clear favorite to win the Big 12 championship with Kansas and Baylor sent packing. But Bob Huggins’ crew will need to take care business against arguably the conference’s most well-balanced team in Kansas State on Friday.

No. 2 West Virginia vs. No. 6 Kansas State

After an embarrassing 81-51 defeat at Oklahoma nearly two weeks ago, Kansas State has won and covered the spread in three straight games, beating the number by 3, 10, and 11 points respectively. The sweetest victory came Thursday, topping Baylor 70-64 as a 4.5-point underdog. Hot starts have helped head coach Bruce Weber’s program in this stretch, averaging a 34-22 first-half score in the trio of games.

WVU opened as a 7-point favorite and as single-digit chalk against Big 12 opponents, the Mountaineers are 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS, winning by 10.4 points per game. West Virginia puts up 79.6 points a night in this spot. Both defeats and two of the blown covers occurred in four games against defenses allowing less than 41 percent from the floor on the year. Kansas State yields 43 percent, the third-highest mark in this scenario, and will likely find it a challenge to slow down the Mountaineers. Look for the Wildcats’ to struggle against the press, and come up short offensively. West Virginia covers the spread and keeps the game 'under.
