Oklahoma vs. Iowa State 9:00PM ET
By the time this game tips, Oklahoma may have been anointed as the new No. 1based on last week’s victories over Oklahoma St. and WVU (combined with the Jayhawks’ loss to the Mounties last Monday night). Iowa St., conversely, may have dropped from the Top 25 with their loss last week at Texas. Oklahoma enters at 15-1 SU and 4-1 SU in the Big 12 (only loss at Kansas in triple OT).  Iowa State enters at 13-4 SU with a 2-3 SU record in the league with plenty to prove and tons of motivation.

Betting Analysis
When Naz Long was injured in mid-December, the Cyclones were rolling at 9-0 SU. Since that time, the schedule has admittedly gotten much harder. Nonetheless, Iowa St. has failed to step up with a marquee victory, going just 4-4 SU in his absence.  Along with the motivation of same season revenge and beating No. 1, they Cyclones will have the magic of Hilton Coliseum on their side. For, it is here that they stand 53-4 SU L3+Y. It is also important that they return home, following consecutive defeats vs. Baylor on this floor and at Texas with a confidence-building win at Kansas St. (76-63) on Saturday. For Iowa St. to win this, they will need key performers such as PG Morris, wing man Niang and starting center, McKay, to perform to the best of their ability. This will also be an ultimate test for 1st year HC Prohm (Murray St.), as he continues his baptism by fire in his maiden voyage to the Big 12.

Readers of this column know that I believe that Oklahoma well deserves their No. 1 ranking. The Sooners have the best perimeter play in the nation, led by shooting guard, Hield, and backed by clutch performer, Woodard, and PG Cousins. On the interior, Spangler has 4 years of experience, while David Lattin is playing the best ball of his career. And, there is little questioning the excellence of HC Lon Kruger, who is 91-63 ATS away, one of the best road records in college basketball. The issue with backing the Sooners is that as good as they are, they have been asked to outperform a bloated pointspread which has resulted in a 1-6 ATS slide.

With all the emotion on the side of Iowa State, including same season revenge, hosting No.1 and the magic of Hilton Coliseum, I invite you to put the NCAA basketball odds in your favor and join me in my NCAA basketball pick with the Iowa State Cyclones.
