Wisconsin has dominated this in-state rivalry the last two decades, but that doesn’t mean its a sure-fire pick against Milwaukee Wednesday night.

Lopsided Series
Wisconsin has won its last 21 games in this series by an average of 17.1 points, which is important to consider when looking over the NCAA basketball odds, as these two teams have played each other every year since 1992-93.

Under the direction of longtime head coach Bo Ryan, the Badgers have compiled a 13-0 SU record versus the Panthers, as he prepares to face off with Rob Jeter—a former player and assistant coach of his.

It’s important to point out that the squad is 3-1 SUATS in its last four opportunities as road favorites of 12.5 or more points.

Defensive Numbers
Milwaukee must get after it on the defensive end if it hopes to cover this double-digit point spread, as it has limited foes to an average of 55.2 points in its four wins, but surrendered 77.4 points a contest in its five setbacks.

The Panthers will certainly be hard-pressed to limit tonight’s foe to under 60 points, as the Badgers rank second in the country in offensive efficiency, while turning the ball over on just 15.1 percent of their possessions.

Since the start of the 2012-13 campaign, the team is 25-21 ATS when getting points, with the OVER going 13-9 in that situation.

Man In the Middle
Preseason All-American Frank Kaminsky is averaging team highs of 16.4 points and 8.9 rebounds, while he’s also shooting a solid 54.5 percent from the field.

The senior forward is one of the main reasons why Wisconsin has put together a tremendous 20-5 SU record on a road or neutral floor the last two seasons.

Making Plays
The Panthers have a major playmaker in senior Steve McWhorter, who is making a case to belong in the discussion for Horizon League Player of the Year, as he’s putting up 16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

Jeter’s gonna need to draw up some plays for some of his teammates in facing a strong defense Wednesday night, as he was limited to four points in last year’s 78-52 blowout loss to Wisconsin.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Panthers as one of their top NCAA basketball picks, as the Badgers are a dismal 6-11 ATS in their last 17 games after scoring 60 or fewer points.

Wisconsin’s offense has yet to fire on all cylinders since winning the Battle 4 Atlantis at the end of November, which includes a 49-38 road victory over Marquette last time out.
