The college basketball odds makers have their hands full with a full slate of Thursday night games. Let’s lock in on a few totals that are sure to fatten your wallet.

Yale Bulldogs vs Temple Owls

The Temple Owls have not been playing consistent basketball lately and they were fortunate to escape with a win over New Jersey Institute of Technology in their last outing. Who, you ask? Well, you’re not alone because even the college basketball odds makers had no idea and thus chose not to render a line on the game. When the dust settled, the Owls edged the Highlanders 68-63. In their games in December, Temple has averaged 66.4 points per game and now they must contend with injuries to Alani Moore and Josh Brown, both of whom are questionable tonight against Yale.

The Yale Bulldogs have etched a pattern of beating up on the weak teams and struggling offensively against those that match up well against them. Consider that Yale has scored a combined 171 points in their last two against lightly regarded Delaware and virtually unknown Central Connecticut State in which there was no line hung. However, when the opposition is evenly matched or better, the offense suddenly tails off. In their six previous games in which the Bulldogs were installed as a pick or an underdog, as they are against Temple, they averaged a click above 61 points per contest.

Temple is struggling and has two contributing players that may not see action but if they do, won’t be at one-hundred percent. Yale will revert to their defense first, offense second game plan against an opponent tonight slated as a five-point favorite. I like the under in my college basketball picks and so should you!

LSU Tigers vs Wake Forest Demon Deacons

These teams last met just about a year ago and the Demon Deacons stunned the Tigers, as seven-point road dogs, 77-71 on LSU’s home court. Now the tables have turned and Wake Forest has been installed as an 8 ½ point home favorite. But we’re not here to talk about who covers and who doesn’t. We’re talking totals and in that regard, it is hard to ignore the over cashing in 12 of the last 16 home games played at Wake Forest. The total last year at LSU was 163 and the teams combined score fell well short of that number. Tonight, that line is lower but that just gives us more betting value here. LSU has averaged almost 80 points per game in their last four contests while Wake Forest has averaged over 85 points in those games this season in which they have been tagged as the favorite. The over is the clear play here.
