NCAA Basketball Pick: Fordham+10.5
Best Line Offered: at Heritage

Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. EST tonight at the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington, District of Columbia. At 5Dimes, the Colonials are a 10.5 point betting favorite on the NCAA basketball odds and the total for the game is listed at 149 .

George Washington University is a very efficient shooting club from the field with their top 3 players all shooting 50% or more, but they're a somewhat weak rebound team and we'll see if that comes back to bite them.

Tyler Cavanaugh and Patricia Garino
With 6 foot 10, 260 pound, Kevin Larsen (10.9 points, 7.8 rebounds) clogging up the middle, Cavanaugh and Garino are the go to guys offensively as both player shoot over 40% from beyond the arc as the two leading scorers on this team. This is not a team that's unselfish. When the open man see's the shot, he's going to take it and that has worked fairly well for GW this season thus far.

For the season, Kavanaugh is averaging 15.7 points and 7.1 rebounds. He has a solid inside game to go along with his ability to shoot the 3-ball. He's tailed off in his last two games against DePaul and UCF. George Washington will need for him to look for his shot. He's a 52.3% shooter and near 90% free throw shooter. He needs to be more active on the offensive end of the court for Geroge Washington to deal with a Fordham team, that will be looking to bounce back from a loss.

Argentina's Finest?
He's no Manu Ginobili, but Patricia Garino, a native of Argentina, is a big part of this team. He lacks a bit of consistency. When the Colonials lost to the DePaul Blue Demons, Garino was 0 for 8 from the field and kept looking for his 3-point shot. Fortunately for GW, he bounced back with a 17 point effort while filling up the stat sheet with his tremendous defense in a 67-50 victory over UCF. This is the type of effort that George Washington will need from Garino against Fordham. Look for him to play well tonight.

Massive Substitution For Fordham
Usually when a coach substitutes his players often, they're sharp on the defensive end and don't tire easily. This can be said for the Fordham Rams as 10 players play 10 minutes or more per game with leading scorer, Mandell Thomas, leading the way at 29.6 minutes per game.

Thomas Slumping
Speaking of Thomas, he will need to find his game as he's been slumping mightily and the main reason why Fordham lost to a lousy BC team. In his last 2 games, Thomas averaged 4.5 points and shot a miserable 3 for 16 from the field.

This is not expected from the Rams leading scorer as he's averaging 16.2 points and 4 rebounds per game and shooting a whopping 48.3% from 3-point range. Mandell Thomas must have a respectable game for Fordham, who are double digit dogs, to have any chance in this game whatsoever.

Guys like Jon Severe (10.9 ppg.) can have the occasional breakout game, but Thomas is the player that this team looks for and this is a huge game. I look for him to bounce back as big time players usually rise to the occasion and the betting spread in this game is a bit high. Take Fordam as the NCAA basketball pick tonight.
