NCAA Basketball Pick: Villanova -4

Best Line Offered: at Heritage

Villanova Wildcats
Villanova has won five straight games after last Wednesday's 72-63 victory against Seton Hall. Daniel Ochefu finished with 20 points and 18 rebounds to lead the way and Josh Hart added 15 points and 10 rebounds as the Wildcats shot just 4-of-22 from three-point range.

The Villanova offense scores 77.7 points per game on 47.5 percent shooting from the field and they hit 31.7 percent of their three-point shots. The Wildcats allow 60.5 points per game on 37.7 percent shooting.

Josh Hart averages a team-best 15.5 points to go along 6.8 rebounds, Ryan Arcidiacono adds 12.7 points per game and Jalen Brunson scores 11.1 points per game while Daniel Ochefu contributes with 11.1 points and 8.6 rebounds.

Butler Bulldogs
Butler is now 12-3 after defeating DePaul 77-72 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs had four players in double figures, led by Kellen Dunham's 24 points on 8-for-14 shooting, including 4-for-7 from three-points range.

Offensively, Butler averages 86.5 points per game on 49.5 percent shooting, including 36.5 percent from beyond the arc. The Butler defense allows 71.4 points per game on 41.6 percent shooting. Kellen Dunham is the team's leading scorer with  15.5 points per game, Roosevelt Jones adds 14.3 points and 7.1 rebounds and Kelan Martin averages 14.3 points and 5.7 rebounds.

Betting Trends
Villanova is 9-5 ATS, 9-4 ATS as a favorite and 9-3 ATS when playing against a team with a winning record. Butler is 7-8 ATS, 0-3 ATS against conference opponents and 2-4 ATS when playing against a team with a winning record.

Final Analysis
Villanova is a 4-point favorite on the NCAA Basketball odds board. Butler averages 38.3 rebounds per game, compared to 33.1 for their opponent, but the fact that they have been outrebounded in each of their last three games can't be ignored and it could be the difference against a Villanova team that can take advantage of second chances on offense with Daniel Ochefu.

Butler will be at home, but Miami and Providence dominated them there and Villanova is an experienced team that is solid on both sides of the court and don't forget that the betting trends favor them. The Wildcats struggled from beyond the arc against Seton Hall but they average 8.8 three-pointers per game and their effectiveness from downtown is one of the keys to this game. I'm taking Villanova -4 with one of my NCAA Basketball picks as I don't see them having another off night from three-point range.
