St. Joseph's vs. George Washington 7:00PM ET
On Wednesday, February 10th, the St. Joes Hawks, under savvy 22nd year HC Martelli, visit the nation’s capital, where they will face off with the George Washington Colonials, who are coached by 5th year mentor, Mike Lonergan. The game is scheduled to tip at 7:00 pm ET at the Smith Center. When these teams met last season, George Washington recorded a (64-60) victory at St. Joes’ Hagan Arena on Hawk Hill. My selection on St. Joes in this contest puts together facets from each of the two articles I have written this week.

Betting Preview
With the George Washington upset of VCU on Saturday by a score of 72-69, as 9 point road dog at Richmond, they snapped the Rams’ 12-game winning streak and 9-1 ATS run. It also dropped VCU into a tie for the A-10 lead with a single loss, while leaving George Washington 2 games back at 7-3 SU. Sitting between the Colonials and league leaders, Dayton and VCU, is a St. Joes team at 8-2 SU. The truth is that more was expected of George Washington this season. They return 3 starters, including their “do everything glue guy,” Garino. Joe McDonald returned at the point, as well as veteran interior player, Kevin Larsen, who has been joined up front by Wake Forest transfer, Tyler Cavanaugh. But even though they are 18-5 SU for the season, they are just 9-11 ATS and a mediocre 2-3 ATS as conference home favorite. Having just beaten the Conference Bear and having defeated St. Joes last season, they may be in for a bit of a letdown tonight.

That would be a mistake against the St. Joes team who, according to today’s article, qualifies as a member of our 140 Defensive Club. The Hawks have translated that excellence into a 19-4 SU record and 15-7 ATS log. Most impressive has been their work on the road, where they are now  the only undefeated road team in college basketball at 8-0 SU ATS. The 5-0 SU ATS mark on the road in league play has extended the record of Phil Martelli in conference road games to 75-41 ATS, among the best travelers in the nation. With best boy DeAndre Bembry leading the way, look for the Hawks to soar to victory tonight!

I invite you to put the NCAA Basketball odds in your favor and join me in my NCAA Basketball pick on St. Joes tonight.
