The Mustangs may have already lost a couple times this season, but that only means they could be undervalued by college basketball oddsmakers for tonight's home game against Arkansas.

Odds Overview
For now, most NCAA basketball odds have the Mustangs favored by five points on their home floor against the visiting Razorbacks. Arkansas is 3-0 SU and 1-1 ATS on the year, with SMU at 2-2 SU and 0-3 ATS in games that have had public lines posted.

The total for tonight's contest is at 141 points. The Razorbacks have been scoring at an insane clip, but will they be able to keep it going against a better defensive team in SMU? Tough call.

SMU Mustangs
The Mustangs have been tested quite a bit in the early stages of the season. They're sitting at 2-2 with wins over Lamar and Eastern Washington and losses to Gonzaga and Indiana.

It's refreshing to see SMU want to challenge themselves in non-conference play, and that's certainly what they got in losses to the Zags and Hoosiers. Nonetheless, that should prepare them for this encounter with a high-scoring Arkansas team.

SMU last took the court three nights ago in their win over the Eagles. Nick Moore led the team with 22 points, with Keith Frazier and Yanick Moreira also scoring in double figures, as the Mustangs shot 49.1 percent from the field and were an excellent 15-of-16 from the free throw line.

Though Nic Moore has been a solid contributor so far, it's Ben Moore that's been even better for SMU. The sophomore is averaging 13.3 PPG and 7.8 RPG through the team's first four games, both of which are team highs. The absence of Markus Kennedy is hurting, but other guys seem to be stepping up.

You never want to start off the season with two losses, especially as a previously ranked team, but we're not worried about SMU. They were highly competitive against Indiana and we're not going to fault them for falling short against Gonzaga, who look like a true national championship contender early on.

Arkansas Razorbacks
Whereas SMU has already felt the sting of losing, the same cannot be said for the Razorbacks, who are still undefeated with a 3-0 record ahead of tonight's tipoff.

Wins over Alabama State, Wake Forest and Delaware State have Arkansas sitting pretty, but the biggest test is awaiting them at SMU.

The Razorbacks have had a few days to get ready for this game after blowing out the Hornets 99-71 at home. Michael Qualls, Anthlon Ball, Bobby Portis and Jacorey Williams (off the bench) all reached double-digit scoring, as Arkansas finished with 10 threes and was completely dominant on the glass. The Razorbacks handed out 26 assists in all and forced 24 turnovers out of Delaware State.

There's no doubt Arkansas is looking good so far, with Portis leading the way with averages of 16.0 PPG and 5.7 RPG. Their extremely high-tempo approach has been working wonders, and theyll look to wreck more havoc tonight against the Mustangs.

We still want to see a bigger sample size out of the Razorbacks before we truly consider them a legit contender in the SEC. They've yet to really be tested, and we're interested to see how the team responds to a little adversity if their shots aren't falling at the incredible clip they've been falling at thus far.

NCAA Basketball Picks
Home-court advantage is always nice, but that's not the main reason we think SMU is the right side.

We believe people are going to over-react to Arkansas' dominant start, thus leaving the value with the Mustangs. Yes, they've already lost twice this season, but both defeats were against quality college basketball programs, and that step-up in competition level should leave them well-prepared for tonight.

Taking that into consideration, we'll be adding SMU as home chalk to our NCAA basketball picks for Tuesday night. There's a reason this team is favored against the undefeated Razorbacks.
