NC State is poised to finish off its season-opening homestand with a perfect record, which makes it the clear pick against Boise State Friday.

Boise State is one of the more experienced teams out of the Mountain West Conference, which is important to consider when making your NCAA basketball picks, as its continually led by the play of Anthony Drmic and Derrick Marks.

The Broncos have watched their senior combo combine for 2,860 points over the course of their careers, with Drmic leading the way with 1,506, and Marks just behind at 1,354. Over the last two-plus seasons, the school is 3-14 SU and 9-8 ATS as underdogs, with no clear edge in terms of the betting total (5-5 Over/Under).

Opening Up
NC State is focused on finishing off a perfect 6-0 homestand to open up the 2014-15 campaign, which can’t be ignored when looking over the NCAA basketball odds, as they come off an impressive 84-72 victory over the Richmond Spiders as 5.5-point favorites Wednesday.

The Wolfpack have three starting guards averaging in double figures, with Alabama transfer Trevor Lacey leading the way at 18.0 points a contest—an impressive number due to the fact that he had to sit out last year. It’s important to point out that the program is 34-7 SU and 20-13 ATS at home the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 16-9 in 25 opportunities.

Problem Areas
Even with an experienced group, the Broncos need to start doing the small things in hopes of reaching the 2015 NCAA Tournament, as they’ve allowed opponents to shoot 46 percent from the field in their first five games. Boise State is also losing the rebounding battle by a minus-1.2 margin, which could be problematic in facing a talented team that’s securing 46.8 rebounds a night.

Sending Shots Back
The Wolfpack are first in the Atlantic Coast Conference and sixth nationally in averaging 7.8 blocked shots per game, with BeeJay Anya leading the way with 22 rejections.

NC State is holding opponents to 35.2 percent shooting from the floor, which fits nicely in sitting behind only 26 teams in the country in defensive rebounding percentage.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Wolfpack as one of their ATS picks, as they’ve covered the number in five of their last six games as home favorites of 6.5 to 9 points.
