The conference championship games are upon us, which give wagerers an extra game to identify trends between teams. Our handicapper has a great trio of O/U NCAA basketball picks for you today.

Stetson vs. Florida Gulf Coast (Over 146)
In one of the crazier conference championship matchups of the day, the 7th place Stetson Hatters (12-21, 4-10) in the Atlantic Sun Conference play the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles for a bid into the NCAA tournament. Stetson’s offense got hot at the right time, and they have exceeded 80 points in each of their last four games. They are on a three game winning streak, which interestingly enough, started with a win over Florida Gulf Coast two weeks ago, 80-73. There were no betting lines available for that game, but there are for this one, with the O/U total sitting at 146 on the NCAA basketball odds boards.

Florida Gulf Coast are no slouches on offense either, and average 80.6 points per game on 48.5% shooting from the floor. But what is more important for this game is that they average 61 attempts per game, and Stetson allows an average of 65 points per game. There will be a high pace to this game, so it will only be nerves for Stetson that may get in the way of a higher score here. They did shoot 51.8% from the floor just a few weeks ago against Florida Gulf Coast though.

This should be an entertaining game in which one team will touch 80 points. That team is likely Florida Gulf Coast, but don’t be surprised if it turns into a barn burner for both squads. Take over 146 in this game as one of your Sunday NCAAB Picks.

Memphis vs. East Carolina (Over 149)
A late injury could be a problem for the East Carolina Pirates (12-18, 4-13) as they finish up their regular season against the Memphis Tigers (16-14, 7-10). These teams met in late January, with the score going way over the listed total of 144 and East Carolina scoring a huge 84-83 upset as a 16.5-point road underdog against Memphis. Memphis has a lower hurdle this time, favored by just 5 points on the road. The O/U total has settled in at 149 at 5Dimes.

Memphis has some serious defensive issues on the road, as they are allowing an average of 82.9 points per game in that situation. This has led to a strong O/U trend where the over has cashed in 8 of 10 games.

Eastern Carolina only scores 73.4 points per game on the road, but in this game they could be missing their leading rebounder in freshman forward, Kentrell Barkley, who is out with an illness. I think this will lead to some matchup issues that could lift the offensive output of Memphis and easy second chance points. I’m taking my chances with a repeat performance of the first game and wagering over 149 at Bovada as another Sunday NCAAB Pick.

Wisconsin vs. Purdue (Under 129.5)
In this Big Ten matchup between two teams at the top half of the conference, the Wisconsin Badgers (20-10, 12-5) travel to a very good Purdue Boilermakers (23-7, 11-6) team that is currently ranked 15th in national polls. This is the second meeting between these teams this season, with Purdue beating the Badgers as a 5-point road favorite in December, 61-55. That game went well under the listed total of 130.5. For this game, the Boilermakers are just 6-point favorites at home, while the O/U total has been listed at 129.5 at Pinnacle.

Wisconsin is in the midst of an impressive run of defensive performances, going 11-1 SU in the last 12 games and having the under cash in 9 of those 12 games as well. They are only allowing 63.1 points per game on the road overall this season on 40.4% shooting.

Purdue is a dynamic offensive team at home, averaging 81.8 points per game, but they also are a stellar defensive team there. The Boilermakers keep opponents to 39% shooting on their home floor and a 64.4 points per game average. This leads me to believe that they can repeat in their performance to keep Wisconsin out of the 60’s, just like they did on the road before. Back the trend in this one and take under 129.5 points at 5Dimes as your NCAA basketball picks.
