Many points will be scored tonight as the #5 Oregon Ducks travel to Los Angeles to face the #10 UCLA Bruins. While UCLA has dropped in the rankings a bit and these two teams have identical records, the UCLA offense is filled with a mixture of spectacular young and experienced talent alike. Will the home court edge propel the Bruins over the top in this game as they're a 4.5 point betting favorite?

#5 Oregon vs #10 UCLA

After consecutive losses to Arizona and USC, the UCLA Bruins have gotten themselves back on track with double-digit wins over Washington and Washington State. As for the Ducks, their defense has been the difference in their victories as they allow a mere 63.5 points per game. With UCLA avaeraging 92.9 points on the offfensive end, something has to give tonight.

Destruction of the Wildcats

Oregon is coming of a huge, momentous victory over the Arizona Wildcats, 85-58. That victory has to scare some teams including the Bruins as Arizona is an elite basketball squad.

In this game, Oregon was able to hold Arizona to just 18 1st half points and the Wildcats were never able to catch up from that point forward. Oregon shot an eye-popping 65.2% from the field and 64% from 3-point range. Teamwork was the name of this game as Oregon managed 26 assists and the combination of Tyler Dorsey and Dillon Brooks went a combined 14 of 19 from the field and 10 of 13 from beyond the arc for a combined 41 points in limited minutes. Oregon is facing UCLA at the best possible time where they're concerned.

Headed For Greatness

While freshman T.J. Leaf is already at an elite level status at the collegiate level, it's only a matter of time before he "take's his talents to the NBA" and showcases his skills. UCLA will only go as far as Leaf takes them as proven in their last 2 games.

Against Washington and Washington State, Leaf averaged 26 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 23 of 31 from the field. While I do believe that Oregon can contain the UCLA offensive machine, guarding T.J. Leaf is a different case and he will be effective in this game.

This will be a very close game, but the smart bet is with Oregon as they're coming off of one of the biggest wins of the season from any team in college basketball.
