Will the Badgers shut down Buffalo's offense in tonight's home game? We've dissected the college basketball odds and believe we have a good reason on where to go with our total play.

Odds Overview
Our focus in this preview will be on the game's total, but if you think there's an edge in the NCAA basketball odds in terms of the spread, we're not going to stop you! Right now Wisconsin is favored by a whopping 22 points, with the Badgers eager to add another win to their 11-1 record on the season.

As for the O/U, it's listed at 134 at time of writing. We know how good the Badgers are defensively, so you have to figure they'll be able to have success against the Bulls, in spite of their impressive 2014 start.

Wisconsin Badgers
The Badgers should be eager to resume play after the holidays, as they appear to be one of the biggest contenders in the grand scheme of things. They're flying high at 11-1, with their only loss coming to the undefeated Duke Blue Devils. Wisconsin hasn't exactly played the toughest of non-conference schedules overall, but they will still enter Big Ten play as the clear favorites.

Bo Ryan's teams seem to always excel on the defensive end, and it's been more of the same this year. They've surrendered 56 or fewer points in four straight games coming into tonight, and it's not like they've been struggling offensively either. Of course, it helps when you've got a seven-footer who can shoot lights out in Frank Kaminsky.

Kaminsky, a senior, is averaging 15.8 PPG and 7.7 RPG while shooting 42.9 percent from beyond the arc. How do you defend that? Then there's guys like Nigel Hayes, Sam Dekker, Traevon Jackson and Josh Gasser who are also logging heavy minutes and contributing to the program on a consistent basis. It's hard to envision Wisconsin not making some serious noise come March Madness.

Buffalo Bulls
Though not a very well-known team, the Bulls have enjoyed a fine start to their campaign. They're 7-2 and will enter tonight's game having won three consecutive contests. Yes, the strength of schedule has left a lot to be desired, but a winning program is a winning program.

Tonight's mathchup in Madison will easily be the team's toughest challenge yet. The Bulls will be primarily relying on two main guys to get them going: Justin Moss and Shannon Evans. Moss is averaging 17.3 PPG and 10.2 RPG on the year, easily the highest averages on the squad. As for Evans, he's chipping in with 14.8 PPG, 3.7 RPG and 5.2 APG and is also averaging nearly two steals per contest as well.

It's been a solid start for Buffalo this year, but we're not too sure we should read too much into that 7-2 record. They got shut down by #1 Kentucky early in the year and also fell at St. Bonaventure, so they have faced some adversity, but we still need to see more before trusting them with our sports picks.

NCAA Basketball Pick
Picking apart the odds and finding the value in a total play is the name of the game here. So what have we decided upon?

We like the look of the UNDER. We know Buffalo has been having success offensively, but their competition hasn't been strong at all, and we expect Wisconsin to suffocate them and hold them to at least under 60 in this spot.

The Badgers are in the top five in defensive efficiency and we think they'll have more than enough energy to stay on Buffalo and make life a living hell on them throughout. It's not often you get a total this high in a matchup involving Wisconsin, so we'll jump on the UNDER with our NCAA basketball picks.
