Not only did the Wizards bust out of their funk two nights ago, now they get the privilege of facing the Phoenix Suns who will be without their best player tonight.

Being an interim head coach must be hard for J.B. Bickerstaff. However, on a team trying to lose after they traded Eric Bledsoe and dumped Earl Watson as coach, you need to be aware of some situations.

Take two nights ago. The Suns were playing on no rest after a game the night before, and on their third game in four nights. Late in the fourth quarter with the Raptors owning a secure lead, Bickerstaff still had Devin Booker in the game. His young star, and the only real asset this team has anymore, was playing big minutes for the third game in four nights in early December.

Why Booker was still in the game is beyond me, but he ended up straining his groin and he’ll be out for the next few weeks. This team is now out Eric Bledsoe and Booker to start this season, and even though the Wizards are also without their best player, they are going to wipe the floor with the Suns.

Without Booker, the Suns’ offense is going to be non-existent. I’m sure T.J. Warren is in for a big game tonight, but it’s not going to be enough for the Suns to cover this spread. No one is going to slow down Bradley Beal or Otto Porter, and honestly those two are enough to beat what’s left of the Suns.

Washington is also an impressive 9-4 ATS this season when playing on the road, and they are 1-1 ATS as road favorites. Without Booker, the Suns should be an easy target for the Wizards.

I’m also making a play on this game with the over as well, giving you a bonus play on the short slate! The Suns’ defense is prone to giving up a ton of points, and while Phoenix might struggle to score, they are 8-3 cashing the over in their last 11 games.
