The Houston Rockets are only 1-3 ATS this season when playing on the second night of a back-to-back. Now they head into Washington, D.C., on Friday night to play a Wizards team that has a lot of potential in this matchup.

NBA Friday: Rockets vs. Wizards

The Wizards cashed a winning ticket in their only game as a home underdog earlier this season, and as +1½ underdogs on Friday they have a lot of value in the NBA Odds for the spread and moneyline.

The Rockets are very banged up, and coming off a loss Thursday they might play it safe with several players. There is a chance they get Chris Paul back, but Clint Capela and defensive specialist Luc Mbah a Moute are out.

The Rockets also might rest some players. Coming off playing 40-plus minutes in six straight games, Trevor Ariza got almost 40 on Thursday, and Coach Mike D’Antoni has already mentioned monitoring his minutes. Nene also might sit after playing Thursday, so the Rockets could have a very short bench, especially if Paul continues to be out.

On the other side you have the Wizards at home and back at full strength. Washington has won five of their last eight games SU, and at home they are 10-6 SU and 6-10 ATS.

Even if Paul does play, he’ll have his work cut out for him against John Wall. And combined with Bradley Beal and Otto Porter, the Wizards have a lot of potential to score some points in this one.

Despite how good the Rockets have been, if we get word of Paul sitting out again, I love the Wizards as a moneyline underdog. Even if Paul plays, the Wizards have some nice value.
