Sacramento Kings vs. Los Angeles Lakers 10:35PM ET
The game will tip at 10:35 ET. In the 2 meetings to date, both at Sacramento, the Kings have victories of (118-115), a game they led by 27 points, and (132-114). This is clearly a battle of two teams headed opposite directions, as LA continues to decline with a 9-34 SU overall record, including just 5-13 SU on this court. Sacramento has 2 more road wins than the Lakers have home wins and a 17-23 SU record for the season.

Betting Analysis
The Kings enter with 4 days rest on a 2-game road winning streak with victories at Utah and vs. the LA Clippers Saturday night (on this very floor) by a (110-103) margin. Now, the Kings seek their 6thconsecutive victory against the Lakers at the Staples Center court. There is little question that the Kings have a greater upside with the talent on hand. Consider the Marcus Cousins, their peripatetic stat leader, who has averaged 31/13 in his last 8 games. In the most recent meeting against the Lakers, Cousins went for 29/10 with 7 assists. The Kings have been lighting it up on the offensive end in January, trailing only Golden St. with an average of 115 PPG. The Lakers are allowing 106 PPG, among the worst in the league. Issues for Sacramento are that veteran HC Karl must attempt to control the egos of PG Rondo, Rudy Gay and the aforementioned Cousins to mold them into a chemistry rich team.

The Lakers are clearly at the other end of the spectrum and headed downward. Kobe Bryant has averaged 27 PPG against the Kings in his career. But, he is a shell of his former self, scoring 10 or less points in 4 consecutive games. The last 3 of those have all been losses by 21 PPG. That includes their most recent game 3 nights ago, when they lost on this floor to the Houston Rockets (112-95). No real fear of a home/road differential for the Lakers, as they are being outscored by 6 PPG here at Staples with only the lowly 76ers having a worst scoring differential on their home court.

Our Pick
It certainly seems odd that the Kings would be favored in this matchup, considering the past history of these franchises. But, current form indicates that the gap is even wider than this projected impost. I invite you to put the NBA odds in your favor and play the Sacramento Kings as your NBA pick tonight.
