With the NBA about to shutdown except for the All-Star festivities, decided to give them more space for sports picks which have adjusted betting odds from the sportsbooks overnight releases

Washington Wizards vs. Toronto Raptors  7:35 ET  CSN-DC, TSN
These two Eastern squads presently hold the No. 4 and No.2 spots respectively in the overall conference standings, which makes this an important matchup. Typically, at least in the East, when top teams collide, defense matters most and the NBA odds on this battle have been lowered from 201.5 to 199. These two are 8-3 UNDER in their last 11 and 4-1 UNDER of late north of the border. My initial thought was this might go the other way, but both offenses have been inconsistent, which could lead to lower total.

NBA Pick – Lean Under at 5Dimes

Sacramento Kings vs. Milwaukee Bucks 8:05 ET  CSN-CA, FS-WI
Last year Milwaukee won 15 games. By the end of tonight they could go into the break having doubled that total already. Those placing NBA picks like the Bucks chances and elevated them two points to -9.5. Lord only knows what Sacramento players are thinking, knowing that after the All-Star break they will be playing for their third different coach after just 52 games. With Sac-Town 2-12 (5-9 ATS) since Jan. 13th and Milwaukee 7-1 (5-3 ATS) in their last eight, it all points to Bucks blowout, except for the court jesters, sorry, Kings are 11-5 and 10-6 ATS recent record in Brew City.

NBA Pick – Lean Milwaukee at BetOnline

Houston Rockets vs. L.A. Lakers  10:35 ET  ESPN
We learned conclusively Charles Barkley is not a fan of analytics last night and doesn’t believe Houston can win a title with a reliance on those numbers. (Chuck should know with all his championship rings) However, a lot of NBA basketball handicappers and wise people have come to understand they have value and they have limits. It looked for awhile their might not be a limit how high the total would climb on this clash, as it shot from 211 to 213.5 like - Twitter trending - on John Stewart last evening. Both teams have struggled on defense in recent games and with this being the final game before time off, you have to wonder if the players focus will be more on offense. With the Rockets 9-1 OVER away after one or more consecutive Over’s, let’s back the public.

NBA Pick – Play Over at Bookmaker

Fordham vs. Richmond  7:00 ET
After a very slow start to the season, Richmond caught fire in winning five of seven (two road losses by three points each) and covered seven straight. However, the Spiders are back caught in a losing web with defeats to LaSalle and Rhode Island and have lost some luster, which you should think about when placing your NCAA Basketball picks. Richmond has been lowered from -15 to -13 even versus forlorn Fordham, who is 1-9 in A-10 action. The Rams are still a respectable 5-5 ATS in those contests, yet they are 2-6 and 1-7 ATS at Richmond. The adjusted number looks spot on.

College basketball Pick– Slight lean Richmond at The Greek

Virginia vs. NC State 8:00 ET  ESPN3.com
While most of the TV college hoops experts are saying Virginia’s system will be “fine” without Justin Anderson for awhile, those making wagers are less certain and lowered the Cavaliers from -8 to -6.5 on the posted NCAA Basketball odds board. This places more pressure on fellow guard Malcolm Brogdon and others to step up and Brogdon has shot just 35 percent in past four games. N.C. State is only 1-4 (0-3-2 ATS) in their past five ACC encounters, but off previous setback at Virginia is 6-0 ATS with same season revenge since last year.

College Basketball Pick – Lean N.C. State at Pinnacle
