This NBA handicapper has narrowed down his favorite NBA picks on the total from Wednesday's busy slate, so read on below for the selections and the reasoning.
NBA Odds: Warriors -3
We see a huge number on the board in this one as the total opened at 210.5 but it seems like too high of a number. By midseason, maybe both offenses will be clicking and they’ll combine to top that total but right now, the two sides haven’t shown they’ll be able to get there.
The Warriors totals have gone: 172, 231 and 185. The aberration was a matchup against the Lakers, who are a horrendous defensive team. For the Clippers, they have the same trend: they’ve played four games and the only one that cleared 210.5 was their matchup with the Lakers.
Although these two tend to play high-scoring affairs, neither team is in a groove just yet. Go under the NBA odds total.

Denver Nuggets vs. Sacramento Kings
NBA Odds: Kings -2.5
The Nuggets and Kings will be finishing up their home-and-home series on Wednesday after the Kings handled the Nuggets 110-105 on Monday. That game went over the number and but this should stay under.
Although it’s early in the season, the Kings have proven to be much improved on the defensive end. They were 20th in the NBA last season in opponent field goal percentage (46.1%) but have been one of the best in the NBA so far, allowing just 40.1% from the field. They held Denver to 38.7% on Monday including 5-of-24 from three-point land. I don’t expect that to change as the Nuggets are one of the worst three-point shooting teams so far (24.3%).
Unless there’s a ton of turnovers – and points off turnovers – as there was on Monday, we should see a low-scoring affair. Go under with your NBA picks here.

NBA Odds:: Wizards -11
The Pacers have had a really tough time finding baskets this season, which is why an under play makes sense on Wednesday. They did manage 103 points against the equally pathetic Philadelphia 76ers but aside from that, they’ve gone scored 89, 92 and 81 in their other three contests. That includes just 81 at home last night to the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Wizards have had some challenges of their own to start the season – especially without Brad Beal – but they’ve been pretty solid on defense. They have allowed 83, 97 and 98 over the last three games, including last night's match against the NY Knicks. They shouldn’t have a problem putting a muzzle on the hapless and shorthanded Pacers on Wednesday. Go under.
