Welcome back to the black! We have nailed our last five plays in a row and a hot streak could be beginning. After pouring over the odds for this two-game Wednesday, I am back with my two best NBA Picks of the day!

  Rockets vs. Spurs

My better judgment tells me the Spurs are going to bounce back with a vengeance from getting embarrassed in Game 1 of this series in front of their home crowd. However, if the Rockets are hitting shots, they are very tough to beat.

They proved that in Game 1. Houston shot 46 percent from the floor but they nailed 22 three-point shots and simultaneously held the Spurs to 36.9% from the floor. Both of those things are not going to happen in Game 2. The likelihood of the Spurs shooting that bad again is pretty low. However, the possibility that the Rockets keep making shots is pretty good.

Houston played the Spurs tough in the regular season and even with the total going up a few points from Game 1, I like the over here in what could turn into an offensive shootout. The Spurs have the weapons to spread out the Rockets defensively and for their own defense, while I doubt Houston drops 126 points tonight, I could easily see a game somewhere around 112-108.

  Raptors vs. Cavaliers

At times in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, the Cavaliers’ defense looked very good and active. In the first quarter they set the tone, but then after they realized their offense was good enough to carry the load, they gave up 87 points in the final three-quarters and pretty much cruised to a win.

Now back home in Game 2, the Cavs are going to stick to the same script. Even with a solid small ball lineup with PJ Tucker, the Cavs don’t have enough to slow down the Cavs’ offense. Cleveland owns the best offensive rating of any playoff team so far at 115.3 points per 100 possessions.

With how we cashed our ticket in Game 1, I can’t see a much different outcome tonight. A teaser with the Cavs at -2 and betting the over at 208 ½ is a solid bet tonight in a game that should continue to be pretty fast pace. The Raptors had over 100 possessions in Game 1 as they tried to claw their way back from an early deficit. The problem is they want to play the game slowly, which is hard when they are getting exposed on defense by this very good offense.
