Today we head towards the bottom of the alphabet for our NBA Wins Totals Odds looking at the Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards. Oddsmakers have both teams improving from last year but which team will truly make the leap and possibly the playoffs?

Utah Jazz

Last year the Jazz won 40 games just missing the playoffs but return a solid core of players.  It seems that oddsmakers have stretched the number a bit and look too optimistic about this team's chances. I really like Quin Snyder as their head coach as he understands the depth of this team very well and that they need to focus on controlling the pace and defense. I thought this team was a bit underrated last year but they play the type of grind it out basketball that can frustrate even some of the best teams in the league. Derrick Favors and Gordon Hayward are starting to come into their own as premier players and I like Rudy Gobert defensively in the middle.  If Dante Exum can make the jump into fulfilling the potential that this organization saw in him into being a leading point guard I like Utah's chances to get over this total that was set across the board. I believe they will be one of the sleepers this season and I look for them to make the playoffs.

Washington Wizards

Last season Washington won 41 games but suffered again with a tough injury to Bradley Beal. That will be a key question is if Bradley Beal can stay healthy long enough to give the Wizards the minutes they need. The issue for me with this team has always been their work on the defensive end as it has been lacking allowing 104.7 points per game last season which ranked in the bottom third of all NBA teams, definitely not promising to win the Championship. They didn't live up to expectations last year and I have a hard time believing they have done much in the off-season to improve their outlook. Their depth chart, in my opinion, is really poor despite having two extremely good players at the guard position in Beal, and All-Star John Wall. The player surrounding these two I don't believe are going to be enough to make this team three or four wins better from last season and so I look for them to actually finish a little lower than last season. Not be able to pick up Kevin Durant has the outlook for Washington in the near future not looking very bright. My NBA pick would be to bet under.
