Injuries eventually affect all teams, and Golden State is dealing with such a situation right now, concerning its best player, Mr. Curry. How do we handicap Golden State's visit with Washington Tuesday night?

Warriors-Wizards Betting Odds
Most of the NBA odds market opened the betting on this game with Golden State favored by 4.5 points, the total proffered at right around 205. In the early action the spread held steady, while most books dropped the total to 204.

Bettors who believe the home dog might win this game outright could get Washington at +175 on the moneyline at 5Dimes.

Warriors-Wizards: Background
Golden State, playing without an injured Stephen Curry, just had a four-game winning streak snapped by a 104-98 loss at Indiana Sunday night. The Warriors led that game by a point with five minutes left, but got outscored 15-8 down the stretch.

Golden State shot just 38 percent from the floor Sunday, while allowing the Pacers to shoot 48 percent.

Just prior to that game the Warriors had opened the “second half” of their season with a 110-99 victory at home over San Antonio.

At 43-10 Golden State leads the Western Conference by three games over second-place Memphis, and leads Atlanta by a half-game in the battle for the best record in the league.

Washington has lost three games in a row, and eight of its last 10, after falling at Detroit Sunday 106-89. The Wizards led that game by five at the half, then scored just 37 points in the second half.

Just before that Washington got blown out at home by Cleveland 127-89.

At 33-23 Washington sits in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, a game and a half behind the fourth-place Cavs.

This is the first meeting between these teams this season. Golden State had beaten Washington six times in a row, stretching back to 2011, but the Wizards won the most recent meeting, last January, 88-85 out by the Bay.

By the Numbers
Golden State leads the league in FG shooting at 48 percent and in 3-point shooting at 39 percent, and ranks seventh in FT shooting at 78 percent. The Warriors also lead the league in FG defense, holding opponents to just 42 percent shooting, and they rank 15th in rebounding at +0 per game.

Washington ranks third in FG shooting at 47 percent, fifth in 3-point shooting at 37 percent and 21st in FT shooting at 74 percent. The Wizards also rank sixth in FG defense, holding foes to 44 percent, and fourth in rebounding at +3 per game.

We've found a valuable underdog worth a wager in Cavaliers vs. Pistons.

Warriors-Wizards Betting Trends
Golden State is 19-8 SU but only 13-14 ATS on the road this season.

Washington is 20-9 SU but 13-16 ATS at home.

Golden State is 25-28 on the OVER/UNDERS this season, even as Warriors games have averaged 210 points. In fact, the Warriors have played five UNDERS in a row, in part because their scoring has been a little off, in part because they've been playing some good defense, and in part because they've been facing some high totals.

Washington is 24-30 on the totals, as Wizards games have averaged 197 points. They've also played four UNDERS in their last six games, mainly because their scoring has been down.

Injury Update
Curry is dealing with a sore ankle, and is questionable for tonight. His absence, of course, would have a huge impact on both the line and the outcome of this game.

Meanwhile, Washington G Bradley Beal (15 PPG) has missed the last five games with a bad leg, and will miss tonight's game, too.

Warriors-Wizards Free Pick
Beal is out, Curry is iffy, and both teams have been trending UNDER recently anyway. So we like the UNDER for tonight's NBA pick, too.
