The Utah Jazz have dropped their first two meetings against the Golden State Warriors this season, but they may offer value in the NBA betting market Friday night.

Let’s take a closer look at the NBA odds for this Western Conference matchup at EnergySolutions Arena, with the opening tip scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Heading out on the road

Golden State went 2-3 SUATS on its recently completed five-game homestand, which included a 111-92 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers as 6.5-point favorites Thursday, while going UNDER the betting total for a third consecutive contest.

The Warriors will return home to host the Charlotte Bobcats and Chicago Bulls after this affair—making this a very difficult spot in terms of the schedule.

NBA handicappers will find that the Warriors are 2-4 ATS as road favorites of 3.5 to 6 points this season.

Utah is seeking its longest winning streak of the 2013-14 campaign, as it has enjoyed three days off since capturing back-to-back home victories over the Sacramento Kings and Washington Wizards.

The Jazz have been getting tremendous production out of leading scorer Gordon Hayward the last three games—averaging 18.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists over that span.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the franchise is 7-4 SUATS as home underdogs of 3.5 to 6 points, with no clear edge in terms of the betting total (5-5 Over/Under).

A rare situation

The Warriors haven’t won multiple regular-season games in Utah since the 1980-81 season, as they picked up a 98-87 victory over the Jazz as eight-point road favorites Nov. 18.

Golden State is 5-1 ATS in its last six trips to this venue, with the UNDER going 7-1-1 in the last nine games of this series in that situation.

Stomach bug

Sports bettors should definitely keep an eye on the injury report leading up to this affair, as Jazz starters Trey Burke and Richard Jefferson are both listed as questionable due to an illness.

Utah needs a full compliment of players to pull off an upset in this spot, considering Golden State has a winning 14-11 SU record when playing away from the Bay Area.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Jazz with their NBA picks, as the underdog has covered the number in five of the last seven meetings in this rivalry.
