The Golden State Warriors lost their last five games heading into the All-Star break by an average of 18.4 points, as they look to turn things around against the Utah Jazz Tuesday night. Is there any value on offer for NBA bettors?

Let’s take a closer look at the current NBA betting odds for this Western Conference matchup at EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City, with the opening tip scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET.

Horrific stretch

Golden State has lost and failed to cover the spread in its last five contests, including a 116-107 setback to the Houston Rockets as four-point home favorites a week ago, while going OVER the total for the fourth time during that stretch.

The Warriors 0-4 against the spread (ATS) when playing against a team with a winning record in the second half of the 2012-13 NBA season, while the OVER is 4-0 in that situation.

There’s no place like home

Utah has compiled a 20-6 straight-up record at home this season, including a 13-5 mark versus Western Conference opponents. The Jazz did suffer a 94-83 defeat to the Warriors as 4.5-point home favorites on Dec. 26, as it was held to 38.6 percent shooting from the floor.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the franchise has gone 10-8 ATS as home favorites of three points or less, with the UNDER going 11-7 in those contests.

Leading at the break

I truly believe the opening 24 minutes of this game will tell the story, with the Warriors being 23-5 when leading at the break this season, while the Jazz lead the NBA with 13 wins after trailing by a double-digit margin. The road team and underdog has also managed to cover the number in five of the last six meetings in this series.

Day(s) of rest

As mentioned in my SBR video, I believe it’s important to handicap how certain teams have performed on three or more days rest this season, as each one lands in that particular situation due the NBA All-Star break.

The Warriors are 4-1 SUATS when playing on three or more days rest during the 2012-13 campaign, while the Jazz have fallen short of covering the number in 12 of their last 16 games in this particular role.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Warriors as one of their NBA picks Tuesday night, as they’ve gone 11-7-1 ATS as road underdogs of three points or less over the last two-plus seasons.
