The NBA season is plugging along, with teams reaching the 20-game mark. There are seven games on Sunday’s card and here’s our NBA picks for three of them, you might want to consider making a play on.

Miami Heat vs. Memphis Grizzlies
Odds: Grizzlies -8
The Miami Heat have fallen below the .500 mark. They have lost six of their last 10 games. They are still the worst rebounding team in the NBA. They have shown just how vulnerable they are without a fully healthy Dwyane Wade each and every night. They have lost twice to the Milwaukee Bucks, a team that sits above them in the Eastern Conference standings. Miami shows so many weaknesses right now, and by averaging only 95.5 points per game, the Heat can’t take pressure off their defense. This is a team that has to win by grinding at this point. Well, the Memphis Grizzlies are the best at grinding. They allow only 93.8 points per game and establish their reputation at the defensive end of the court. Memphis did lose on Friday, but it lost to the San Antonio Spurs. Miami’s overall skill and depth aren’t anywhere near what San Antonio offers. Memphis is going to find it easy to play Miami by comparison. The Grizzlies are still 7-3 in their last 10 games. They have a positive point differential of over six points. Miami has a negative differential of 2.9 points. In every way imaginable, Memphis outclasses Miami. Take the Grizzlies with your NBA picks here.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. New York Knicks
Odds: Trail Blazers -5.5
This is a game in which you have to trust Portland’s talent, even though the Blazers are moving into a long Eastern road swing for the second time this season and might be a little weary getting into the Big Apple. Portland is 9-1 in its last 10 games. The Blazers have not suffered a letdown from last season, when they surprised much of the NBA and rose all the way to the second round of the playoffs. This season’s Portland team has a positive average point differential of 7.6 points. The Blazers allow under 96 points, which is a very impressive statistic given that they have such skilled offensive players. They’re obviously committing to the defensive part of basketball as well. The Knicks are 1-9 in their last 10 games acording to NBA odds. They have lost seven in a row and fell to the reeling Charlotte Hornets over the past week. The only way New York wins is if Portland plays poorly. That’s possible, but not likely.

Free NBA Pick: Trail Blazers -5.5 at Pinnacle

Denver Nuggets vs. Atlanta Hawks
Odds: Hawks -5
This is a game in which the Hawks have all the advantages. Denver got pounded by 30 at Washington on Friday night. The Nuggets had been above .500 for a brief period of time, but that didn’t last very long. Atlanta, on the other hand, has won five in a row and has risen to third place in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks are 7-3 in their last 10 games and seem to be functioning very smoothly together. The Atlanta Hawks are averaging 103.9 points per game, the third-best mark among all Eastern Conference teams. Take the Hawks at home against the struggling Nuggets.

Free NBA Pick: Atlanta -5 at The Greek
